Came good around this time last year with back-to-back handicap wins, not so good this season which now means he's 4lb lower than the last of those wins but conditions suit and he could bounce back. Yard could be in better form, though.
Form has been a bit in-and-out but on his day, he's more than capable of taking this and he ran well over C&D last time out. Upped 4lb for that, which asks a bit more, but conditions fine and if on a going day, might take some passing.
Irish raider, made all to score at Ayr from a 12lb lower mark last October and although poor when last seen, may well benefit from a break (has won after one before) and James Bowen on board at Ayr. booked again. Chances.
Fully exposed handicapper that doesn't win very often, came good at Hereford last November but three pulled-up efforts around that temper confidence. Faces competition for the lead here too, and others preferred.
Into the veteran stage now but still capable, as he showed when winning over C&D here in January. Didn't run at all badly in better company last time out and although he's another that likes to lead, has chances if he can shake others off early.
Went close when well backed to score at Fontwell in January but that's his only effort of note in his last six starts and despite his falling mark, makes little appeal here.
No win in 18 starts, but had just taken up the running when falling here two starts ago, and there are other efforts this season that offer some hope, but needs to bounce back after a poor run last time now. Hard to totally discount.
Forecasts
Pink Gin (5/2), Toosey (3/1), Cucklington (4/1), Wizards Bridge (9/2), River Of Intrigue (7/1), Copperfacejack (14/1), Fearsome Fred (20/1)
No shortage of pace here, with three or four of these wanting the role of pacemaker and who gains the battle for early supremacy will have a big say in this. Toosey and River Of Intrigue make the most appeal of the front runners but they may set it up for FEARSOME FRED, yet to win a race but might have been a bit unlucky here in February when he fell (when going well) and he might be able to make amends today.
