Useful handicapper at around this trip, but he's been expensive to follow, and his last win came in September 2016, albeit off a 17lb higher mark.
First run for current trainer after leaving David O'Meara's yard when chasing home Ilhabela Fact at this venue in February. Comes into the reckoning on that effort, and likely to have more to offer.
Winner of a maiden hurdle at Huntingdon a year ago, but not seen since disappointing in that sphere at Uttoxeter in July. Won a Flat maiden at Ascot on debut, and lightly raced on Flat since, so needs a market check.
Won first handicap start at Newcastle (1m2f) when fitted witrh blinkers, but disappointing subsequently, with a visor tried on final 2018 start. Needs to bounce back, but new headgear tried now, and handicapper has given him a chance.
Won a trio of apprentice handicaps on turf last year under this rider, and largely consistent throughout the season. Mixed record fresh, but not without claims if arriving in form for new trainer.
Has won twice over 1m4f here this year, and forgiven latest effort when racing too freely for a change of jockey. This trip is fine, and he's capable of bouncing back with regular rider back on board.
Has returned in fair form, making the frame on both starts here this term,. most recently when third of 13 to King's Advice over 1m4f. Races off same mark now, and shouldn't be far away.
Another who has shown her well-being in recent runs at this venue, finishing second on all three 2019 outings, and beaten just ¾L by Nylon Speed last time. Creeping up the handicap without winning, but not dismissed.
Best effort in three runs this term when neck third of 8 to Singing Sheriff over 1m4f here, and admirably consistent, but he looks a little vulnerable having gone back up in the weights for his latest effort.
Has an excellent record at this track, so easy enough to forgive a lapse in form at Lingfield last time, and she is effective from 1m to 1m3f. Should get back on track, but others arguably better treated.
Won a Class 5 handicap over C&D on her penultimate start, but found out in stronger company last time, and again looks vulnerable in what is a competitive affair.
Forecasts
Rashdan (5/2), Valentino Dancer (11/2), Surrey Blaze (11/2), Lawn Ranger (6/1), Unit of Assessment (15/2), Dono Di Dio (8/1), Magic Mirror (10/1), Voi (20/1), Baydar (25/1), Framley Garth (33/1), Movie Set (33/1)
A fiercely competitive handicap, and luck will play its part, but it may pay to forgive UNIT OF ASSESSMENT a rare poor run here last time when he failed to settle. Dropping back in trip with Adam Kirby renewing his association could well be key, and he is preferred to Valentino Dancer and Lawn Ranger.
- Unit of Assessment
- Valentino Dancer
- Lawn Ranger
