Verdict

The pair to concentrate upon are the four-timer seeking Alkaamel and the progressive KINVER EDGE. January's C&D scorer Alkaamel has a perfect record on the AW and is versatile in terms of racing surface. Although clinging on at the finish at Wolverhampton latest, he travelled through the vast majority of that race as being head and shoulders above his three rivals, so a subsequent 3lb rise in the weights isn't overly punitive. However, the preferred choice is the mount of James Doyle. The Godolphin 3yo has progressed with each and every racecourse appearance, showing a solid level of form in the process. He ought to be tough to beat on handicap debut from an opening mark of 86.
  1. Kinver Edge
  2. Alkaamel
  3. Loch Ness Monster
