A good quality Class 2 handicap for stayers to kick-off the action at Gosforth Park, with this race effectively doubling up as an early season (or late season - depending upon your perspective) trial for the Northumberland Plate and Vase. Lucky Deal thrashed BUSY STREET by 3L at Chelmsford in February but isn't guaranteed to have things all his own way on tonight's revised terms, now switched to racing on Tapeta for the first time. The selection is a tough cookie, as demonstrated when gamely scoring at Kempton just under three-weeks ago, so can hopefully confirm his January C&D winning form with both Stargazer and Loud And Clear.
