Not many miles on the clock but has experience of this course and possible that she's better than when she was last seen on; ran too keenly on turf at Leicester and failed to get home. Stiff test on these terms though.

Gone well here before today and feasible he can keep his mind on the job now the cheekpieces are in place. Lost out for second place latest, so appears to need an extra push. Not particularly well handicapped though.

0-8 so far and been away from the action since a poor run at Wolverhampton in November. Has a hit to prove now.

Run of moderate performances was extended at Wolverhampton when last seen in January and another who been expensive to follow on the AW (1-14). Well handicapped if able to bounce back though.

Winner of a very ordinary maiden at Southwell last November but nothing to glean from her last start to suggest she's ready strike for her first win in a handicap. Others make more appeal.

Was the surprise winner of a handicap on the July course at Newmarket when last seen but had previously been well held over C&D; fitness to prove on her first run since last summer.

Raced too keenly and was also short of room at one stage when sent off as favorite here last time out; better judged on his previous start when he went close over C&D. Interesting to note the headgear is dispensed with. May be worth another chance.

Made all to win at Lingfield last week and connections are obviously keen to keep him on the go; carries just 4lb extra and dangerous if he's allowed an easy time on the front end. (Also entered at Musselburgh on Tuesday.)

Ran well over a mile here last week and has won over this trip, so the distance isn't likely to be much of an issue. Another to bear in mind even though it's noteworthy that Luke Morris jumps ship to ride Don't Do It this time.

Was behind Orobas in an amateur riders race at Lingfield last week but has a better record at this course and is only 1lb above his latest C&D winning mark. Improved since fitted with a visor and goes well for the rider. Plenty to like.

Forecasts

Gas Monkey (7/4), Don't Do It (5/1), Bayston Hill (6/1), Velvet Vision (7/1), Orobas (8/1), Squire (8/1), Princess Harley (12/1), Overtrumped (14/1), Roc Astrale (20/1), Agent Gibbs (33/1)

Verdict

His latest start need to be forgiven but GAS MONKEY ran well here on his penultimate outing and, assuming he can settle better than last time, he looks worth another chance in a race which may be set up nicely for him. The betting surrounding Don't Do It with Luke Morris back in the saddle can give a good few clues towards the most likely danger, while Squire and Orobas are a couple of others to monitor closely too.
  1. Gas Monkey
  2. Don't Do It
  3. Squire
