Dual winner over fences last year who looks to be better in the spring/summer than at other times of the year (best on good ground). Would have needed his last run after five months off; better expected here, 2lb below last winning mark.
Looks as though this course winner over shorter would have needed the run last time back from a break of 21 months. Handicapper starting to give him a chance although he may not yet be in the form to make the most of this mark.
Won a small field novice chase when he was with Brian Ellison back in 2016 but failed to win in handicaps after that; form has an uneven feel to it. Easy to back on his first run for this new yard after 13 months off; headgear now left off.
Scored twice over fences when with Emma Lavelle (once over C&D off a 9lb higher mark) before eventually losing his way. Failed to really get going for this yard as yet (has had wind op) but won't be a surprise to see them turn him around.
High point of his chasing career very much came this time last year when landing a decent prize at Haydock (2m4f, soft). Form since then has been dubious to say the least, failed to fire under an aggressive ride over 2m1f when last seen.
Dual C&D winner but firmly in the veteran stage now and although some of his best form has come here he is likely to need this outing after an absence. 5lb out of the handicap and best watched despite the modest overall standard here.

A distinct lack of solid or appealing profiles in this and it’s hoped that the recent Doncaster outing for CUT THE CORNER has set up for this in what appears to be his time of the year having slipped back below his last winning mark. Set List shaped with promise when last seen and given that Fakenham outing was his first for 10 months it won’t be a surprise to see this well handicapped sort step forward here. Amber Gambler has failed to fire since this time last year but he may be a spring horse who is more comfortable over this longer trip.
