Winner and runner-up three times as a juvenile, showing he can handle AW surfaces. Quite a stiff task off top weight, but he has earned his mark and has to be considered.
Has already run 16 times, winning twice on the AW and being placed plenty of times. Thoroughly exposed and may be vulnerable to a few of his rivals.
Winner on the AW at Lingfield last April, but form gradually tailed off as the season progressed. Chance that he is best caught fresh and has a second on this surface on his CV.
Promise in maiden/novice company when trained by Charlie Appleby last season. Snapped up by current connections for 20,000 gns and is one to note on AW/handicap debut after being gelded.
Off the mark at the third time of asking when scooting clear at Haydock in October. Looks nicely weighted for handicap debut, although ability to handle this surface has to be taken on trust.
Salisbury maiden winner for Michael Appleby last summer, but failed to build on that effort and tries his luck for a new stable. Cheekpieces are fitted for the first time.
Promising as a juvenile and has won both his starts at three, latterly beating Uncle Jerry in a Wolverhampton handicap in first-time cheekpieces which are retained. Obvious chance off 2lb higher with more improvement to come.
Rounded off last season with victory in a Redcar novice contest. Has been gelded over the winter and is feasibly handicapped on his return to action.
Improving filly who has won two of her last three races, latterly in a handicap at Chemsford. Up 5lb which makes life more difficult, but cannot be ruled out.
Landed a Newmarket maiden last summer, but finished out of the frame in three subsequent runs. Makes his seasonal reappearance off a reduced mark so interesting to see if the market speaks in his favour.
Wide-margin winner of a weak novice race at Wolverhampton before scoring narrowly on handicap debut at Newcastle. By no means exposed and looks a player off 2lb higher mark.
Won a 7f Yarmouth nursery before finishing second to Uncle Jerry over the same trip at this venue in October. Has joined shrewd stable from Richard Hannon's yard and it is interesting to see him dropped in distance after being gelded.
Forecasts
Liberation Day (7/2), Uncle Jerry (4/1), Ginger Fox (11/2), Probability (8/1), Welcoming (8/1), Solar Park (9/1), Magical Wish (12/1), Jungle Inthebungle (12/1), Walkman (20/1), Absolute Dream (20/1), Fly The Nest (25/1), Goldino Bello (40/1)
Plenty of possibilities in a decent sprint handicap for three-year-olds. Ginger Fox catches the eye at the bottom of the weights, while Liberation Day, Probability and Solar Park are improving sorts who will have their supporters. However, preference is for WELCOMING, who promised plenty as a juvenile before delivering at Haydock and may have got in lightly on her handicap debut. Others to consider include Absolute Dream, Magical Wish and Jungle Inthebungle, who may be best caught fresh.
- Welcoming
- Liberation Day
- Solar Park
