Not stood much racing of late but feasible to suggest that he needed the outing when he was second to Thosedaysareover C&D last time. Better off at weights here and will be a big player here if he's flourished since last seen.
Had a ring rusty Simply A Legend 4.5l adrift when winning here in January; and reverts to hurdles after a chase win in Ireland earlier this month. 6lb worse-off with his old rival this time and may struggle to uphold the form on the revised terms.
Consistent under both codes but in the form of his life over jumps last year and merits serious consideration if still in the same frame of mind. He was rated much higher as a novice and may have a bit more to offer. Worth considering.
Has a C&D win to her name but form has been patchy since she reverted to hurdles from the Flat. Would have claims is able to repeat the effort from her penultimate start but her latest outing was nowhere near as good.
Has a course win beside his name and should be suited by the conditions. However, he's never won beyond an extended two miles and the gelding needs to up his game after two modest performances.
Won from a 5lb higher mark last summer but form has taken a nosedive since he returned from a break during the winter. The trip might also be on the sharp side for the old boy these days.
Posted a reasonable effort on his latest return from an absence but lacked a tactical change of gear near the finish and was flattered by his finishing position. Stiff test ahead here.
Posted two solid efforts since undergoing wind surgery but has gone back up in the ratings as a result. Set to race from 7lb higher than his last winning mark and needs a lot to go his way.
Forecasts
Thosedaysaregone (2/1), Simply A Legend (7/2), Dubai Angel (6/1), Theatrebar (15/2), Cornborough (8/1), Becky The Thatcher (10/1), Golden Jeffrey (14/1), Desert Island Dusk (22/1)
The fact that Alan King has persevered with SIMPLY A LEGEND is a solid indication that the gelding is far from a lost cause despite him having raced only once in the last three years. The ten-year-old is weighted to reverse the form course form with Thosedaysaregone and edges preference on this occasion. Golden Jeffrey enjoyed his racing last year and has solid enough form to merit consideration for a place in the frame. Desert Island Dusk has done well since a wind operation and is also entitled to be thereabouts.
- Simply A Legend
- Thosedaysaregone
- Golden Jeffrey
