Former C&D winner comes here after a career-best when winning at Wolverhampton last time out, with Something Lucky back in second spot. Gone up 3lb which demands a bit more. Won this last year.
Prolific winner in his career, including four successes around here. No match for Drakefell in claimer at Wolverhampton latest (had valid excuse) however and remains opposable in this field.
Former C&D winner, thrives on his racing. Closely matched with Just That Lord on last month's Wolverhampton secondo over this trip. Has gone well in two further starts and cannot be crossed off the list.
Previous C&D winner hasn't tasted success in 13 starts now. Had a wind operation during winter break but no match for Just That Lord on return to action last month at Wolverhampton and hard to foresee turnaround.
Thirsk winner in May last year over 6f (good to firm), though was only rated 71 then. Some good races run afterwards but bit more needed on the AW off a layoff starting out for new handler from lofty mark.
Has won over C&D before and step in the right direction when landing a claimer at Wolverhampton over this trip last month (had Captain Lars behind) before leaving Richard Hannon. Had plenty in hand and respected now.
Narrowly fended off Something Lucky for C&D success at this track last month, doubling career tally here (4-16 on AW overall). Ran below best in Wolverhampton race won by Tathmeen since however.
Couple of wins in his last four starts, beating some of these rivals along the way. No match for Warrior's Valley at Southwell most recently, though return to this venue and better terms might see the 4L gap narrowed now.
3-6 lately, including impressive Southwell success latest, 9lb higher than when scoring here this month however and handicapper must be inching close to winning this argument.
Gained third career success at Sandown last August and her first over the minimum trip. Struggled in three further turf starts however and returns from an absence here. Others preferred.
Forecasts
Warrior's Valley (4/1), Drakefell (9/2), Tathmeen (5/1), Just That Lord (5/1), George Dryden (7/1), Something Lucky (7/1), Captain Lars (8/1), It's All A Joke (8/1), Harrogate (33/1), Peggie Sue (33/1)
Warrior's Valley is in fine fettle just now and relishes this track, he's likely to be in the driving seat from the word go and commands respect despite going up for 4lb for his latest success. IT'S ALL A JOKE is 2-2 over C&D however and can go well back here having looked a little unlucky at a crucial juncture last time at Wolverhampton. This has an open look to it, with last year's winner Just That Lord joining Drakefell and Something Lucky in completing a list of worth candidates.
- It's All A Joke
- Warrior's Valley
- Just That Lord
