His AW mark is now just about in line with his turf mark and he could capitalise on that fact being strongest on an artificial surface; beaten just over 2L when finishing fifth of 14 to Irish Times at Chelmsford (1m) recently.
Out of sorts since winning for Ivan Furtado on Ladies Day at Newcastle in July 2018 (7f); first start for Nikki Evans.
Has twice finished in the frame over 6f in recent months, including when beaten 7L by Marble Bar at Southwell 11-days ago; 1-21 overall, and difficult to say how he'll handle this longer trip definitively.
3lb higher than when scoring at Southwell (1m) in December; not in the same shape on his last two starts and hasn't run all that well at Wolverhampton in the past (0-4).
Broke his AW duck when beating Dodgy Bob (runs earlier) by 1L over 7f here at the start of March; 3lb higher; probably just about as effective over 1m.
Still a maiden on the AW (0-9) but is a three-time winner on turf who stays an extended mile; on the premises throughout when finishing a close-up fourth to American Endeavour over C&D in February.
Rated 72 when justifying favouritism (13/8) over 1m at Ripon in June 2017; all spectacularly downhill since, including a trio of woeful efforts on the AW this winter; poorly drawn.
Both of his AW wins have come at this track (7f-1m½f); has shown consistent form figures (1,3,3,3,4,7,2.3) since October 2018; ran well over an extended 1m1f here three-weeks ago when finishing a respectable third to Creative Talent; solid.
Stayed on well to win at odds of 14/1 in the lowest grade of handicap (Class 7) over 1m at Kempton in November; has struggled since, including in selling handicaps and remains 2lb above that winning mark.
Four of his five career wins have come over 6f and whilst the other was at this trip, it doesn't mean that he's a rock-solid miler either; 0-3 for current connections; others preferred.
23-race maiden who hasn't seen his fortunes transformed (yet) by the astute Michael Appleby; drops to a career low handicap mark (51) sporting newly-applied blinkers.

Seaforth (5/2), La Sioux (11/2), Final Attack (11/2), Ubla (6/1), Mans Not Trot (6/1), Molten Lava (8/1), Essential (10/1), Admiral Rooke (10/1), Herm (12/1), Ainne (28/1), Cosmic Ray (40/1), Big Amigo (40/1), Frank's Legacy (66/1)
Not a great deal to enthuse over in a low-grade finale. The well drawn Mans Not Trot should adopt a prominent early racing position and is worthy of respect along with the wider drawn, ultra-reliable Final Attack. Furthermore, the likes of Seaforth and Herm could also feature, but a chance is taken on the Gay Kelleway-trained UBLA. This gelding is strongest on the All-Weather, has become well handicapped and showed signs of a return to form at Chelmsford. 7lb claimer Sean Kirrane is still seeking his first Flat winner on these shores (0-14) but has ridden three winners in Ireland (from 39 rides) and appears more than capable in the saddle.
- Ubla
- Final Attack
