Horse A-Z
Stowaway gelding who appears to be capable of winning at this level and ran with promise in big field on his only outing so far under rules in 2m Naas maiden last month. Up in distance and open to progress.

Shown some ability in a number of contests so far finishing eighth of 16 in a bumper and 10th of 29 in a maiden hurdle before a 20L defeat when lining up in a novice contest at Naas (2m3f, good to yielding; 12-1) last month finishing fifth of nine.

Sent off big prices all five starts over timber, including in a handicap at Naas in January. Unable to threaten so far and now goes beyond 2m for the first time with plenty to prove.

Useful in bumpers without winning, has been competitive in three starts in this sphere with best effort coming over this trip at Clonmel (yielding to soft) when second in January. Booking of Mark Walsh a plus.

Beaten just over 5L in a point-to-point at Belharbour last month on debut in that sphere, worth a market check now diverting under rules.
Central Park gelding, half-brother to two winners but nothing remarkable in point-to-point exploits and tailed off recently on rules bow at Naas in similar conditions having been sent off 100-1.

Not without promise in a number of hurdle starts since November including a fourth of 17 in a Gowran Park maiden hurdle (2m4f, soft) in January. Ran to similar level this month at Thurles over 2m6½f and could have place claims now.

Has offered glimpses of promise since joining this yard, though not exactly consistent. Remote third (beaten almost 20L) at Thurles this month in a maiden hurdle, more demanded upped in distance.

Daughter of Jeremy bought for €21,000. Six-race maiden hurdler but showed best form over this trip at Fairyhouse on good ground when third in January. Yard on a relative lean spell, by their own standard, with just 9% strike rate from 90+ runners.

Naas bumper winner in 2017, also ran well in Listed Navan contest. Missed more than 300 days and hasn't done enough in two hurdles runs at Limerick and Gowran Park (both 2m4f, soft/soft to heavy) to merit support. Early days yet however.

Subtle Power mare, has shown some ability in point-to-points (placed three times) though was pulled up on most recent outing in that code last month. Best watched on rules bow.
Dansant mare makes first start, trainer has limited team now and is 0-10 with hurdlers in the last 12 months. Likely best watched starting out.

Forecasts

Kalum River (3/1), Makka Pakka (4/1), Lady Ischia (9/2), Mason Jar (11/2), Jeremys Dream (8/1), Seeyouinvinnys (8/1), Castlebellingham (8/1), Askann (12/1), Montagne D'Argent (14/1), Mister Eddman (16/1), The Kitchenmecanic (50/1), Ashton Court (50/1), Briggitie's Hill (66/1), Youcanttouchthis (66/1)

Verdict

Jeremys Dream has yet to get going but no doubt Gordon Elliott can find a race for her soon, while Kalum River on the other hand is somewhat consistent and capable of being in the mix here. Both Montagne D'Argent and Castlebellingham are potential improvers upped in distance but ASKANN was running an eye-catching race at Navan in December before she swerved late on and unseated today's rider (disputing the lead at time). She might be capable of a bold showing now for Mervyn Torrens at a track where he has done well in the past.
  1. Askann
  2. Kalum River
  3. Jeremys Dream
