In a rich vein of form having 'won' five of his last six starts on the AW (1m-1m2f); 2lb higher than when deservedly awarded the race by the stewards at Wolverhampton seven-days ago; first ever start at Lingfield Park.
A five-time winner from 25 starts on the AW, albeit all of those wins have been gained at or around 1m2f, including when beating Isomer by a head here in February; potentially vulnerable at 1m; solid 5lb claimer in the saddle.
Two-time Lingfield winner, including by 5L in a Class 6 C&D handicap in May 2018; 3lb higher than when finishing just over 1L second to Move Swiftly at Glorious Goodwood (1m) in July.
Thoroughly consistent on the AW all winter (1,2,2,2,2,1,2); couldn't quite reel in today's rival Sha La La La Lee when beaten a neck over C&D three-weeks ago (Insurgence a further neck back in third); 1lb higher.
3-8 on the AW and has returned from a short break in peak form during the early months of the calendar year; beaten two necks by today's rivals Sha La La La Lee and Family Fortunes over C&D three-weeks ago.
Notched a second C&D win (January) when beating today's rival Insurgence by a head at odds of 20/1; freshened up for this race with a month off the track since a couple of runs in quick succession during February (24 hrs apart).
Disappointed his trainer when beaten on return to action at Wolverhampton (7f) in February, but this well-regarded 4yo was back to winning ways when making all to deny both Family Fortunes and Insurgence over C&D three-weeks ago; 2lb higher.
One-time smart sprinter for Roger Varian (5f-6f); has become disappointing in more recent times, falling down the weights and now finally introduced to a visor; makes no appeal over this trip.
Stablemate of Nonios; winner of a prestigious 1m maiden at Nottingham in November 2017, but generally speaking has under-performed over the past 9-12 months or so; slipped to a handy mark, albeit this looks to be overly competitive; 0-5 on the AW.
Forecasts
Sha La La La Lee (9/4), Executive Force (7/2), Family Fortunes (9/2), Insurgence (5/1), Mr Scaramanga (8/1), Nonios (14/1), Hateya (20/1), Come On Tier (20/1), Atletico (33/1)
Executive Force produced a career best when rattling home at Wolverhampton last week (ultimately awarded the race by the stewards) and with rock-solid AW form-lines with the likes of Matterhorn previously, he's a worthy market leader on his first career start at Lingfield Park. However, the solution potentially lies elsewhere with the previous Sha La La La Lee, FAMILY FORTUNES and Insurgence clash an obvious starting point. Tom Dascombe thinks the world of his horse so he could prove capable of following up off just a 2lb higher mark, but the logical school of thought would imply that the stamina-laden runner-up can reverse the placings with a similar late thrust.
- Family Fortunes
- Executive Force
- Sha La La La Lee
