Much more like it when finishing a keeping on third to Tokaramore over 2m4f here (against her own sex) last month; well worth another try at this 3m trip and seemingly at ease on genuinely good ground.

Smooth all the winner on chasing debut over C&D in February but suffered a heavy fall on his return to this track a fortnight later; no surprise to see him return to the smaller obstacles for a much needed confidence boost.

Went close off a 2lb lower mark under similar conditions at Ludlow (3m, good) in November; soft ground a plausible excuse for a couple of lesser efforts since; not discounted.

Left her previous form in the distant past when introduced to handicapping over 2m4f here recently (beaten just over 2L by Frame Rate - runs at 3.40pm); there's plenty of stamina in her pedigree; every chance this extra yardage will suit.

Heavily punted when winning on debut for this trainer at Fakenham in November (2m7f+ mares' handicap hurdle); not so good next time when dropped in trip; off since; first ever Musselburgh runner for this trainer (in the silks of a local owner).

Dual bumper scorer for Keith Dalgleish; badly lost his way over hurdles, plunging down the handicap as a result; slowly re-building his racing career for a new trainer and could bounce back somewhere along the line.

Snapped a long losing streak when breaking the maiden tag from the foot of the handicap over 2m6f here (good to firm) in November; finished fifth (not too far behind today's rival Splash The Cash) over 2m4f here latest.

Forecasts

Chanceanotherfive (11/4), Yeats Baby (3/1), Splash The Cash (3/1), Dizoard (6/1), Samtu (8/1), Donnas Dream (10/1), Shanroe Al C (12/1), Rockalzaro (16/1)

Verdict

A largely unappealing contest in which Emmet Mullins saddles his first ever Musselburgh runner (for locally based owner Gerry McGladery). Yeats mare Yeats Baby was heavily supported when winning at Fakenham in November, so rates as one for the short-list. However, a couple against the field at better prices are the top-weight Donnas Dream who is perfectly at ease on a sound surface and the unexposed mare SPLASH THE CASH. On pedigree, this 6yo Jennie Candlish-trained mare should be suited by stepping up in trip (to 3m), and a positive showing from Frame Rate in the 3.40pm race would further enhance her already obvious chance.
  1. Splash The Cash
  2. Donnas Dream
  3. Rockalzaro
