Has scaled new heights since switched to fences (2-5); carries a 7lb penalty for beating yesterday's Sedgefield flop Tetraites Style by 4½L over an extended 2m here 12-days ago; promises to stay this longer trip on a sound racing surface.
Bombed out over C&D latest, but firmly on an upward trajectory immediately prior to that with previous Musselburgh form figures of 2,2,1,1; very closely matched with re-opposing rival King Golan; one of three runners for Lucinda Russell.
Course bumper winner; somewhat disappointing since finishing 8L second to the now 122-rated Dali Mail in a 2m heavy ground maiden hurdle at Ayr in November; making his rules chasing debut (0-5 in PTP's for Donnchadh Doyle).
Front-runner who was returning from seven-month absence when finishing 19L third of five to Monsieur Co over 2m here in February; today's longer trip is in his favour, albeit remains high in the weights; stablemate of Elmono and The Road Home.
Winner of a 2m hurdle at this track in January 2018 (good to soft); ran his best race since, and over fences when finishing a one-paced second to Old Salt over C&D 22-days ago; others (stablemate Elmono included) appear more likely.
Has turned over a new leaf this season, appearing to be a vastly improved performer; made all and jumped well when twice scoring at Kelso (good) in October; back from a break when beaten a short-head by Elmono over 3m here latest.
Forecasts
Wishfull Dreaming (7/4), Boy's On Tour (9/2), King Golan (5/1), Elmono (5/1), The Road Home (7/1), Sporting Press (11/1)
Scotland's leading lady Lucinda Russell boasts a strong hand with course specialist Elmono seemingly the pick of her three runners in a tight-looking contest, which also features the upped in trip Wishfull Dreaming and the revitalised KING GOLAN. The selection was narrowly beaten by Elmono over 3m here in February but that was on his first start for four months. He side-stepped a planned engagement at Newcastle on Saturday (soft ground), and Kenny Johnson can be rewarded for adopting that logical approach with another successful raid over the Scottish border.
- King Golan
- Wishfull Dreaming
- Elmono
