No better than fairly treated having been raised in the weights for proving no match for Dynamite Dollars last time. Nevertheless a defeat of Capeland looks strong form and yard have had five winners from their last seven runners.

Defied a long absence off a decent mark when scoring at Aintree in November but looked very ready for that outing. Run with credit since (had a wind op before his last start); still looks fairly treated and one of the more reliable options in this.

Recent efforts indicate he has little in hand of his current mark. Needs the ground to dry out and he is usually better on second or third start following a break.

Two career chase wins both came in 2016. Has been scavenging place money in small fields this winter, but had his limitations cruelly exposed last time. Visor tried today.

Beat Poker School by 10L off level weights to land a gamble over C&D a year ago. Form has gone into a tailspin since but Paddy Brennan back on board and cheekpieces fitted. Worth a glance at the market.

Forecast

Ballywood (4/5), Poker School (4/1), Yorkist (5/1), Valseur Du Granval (8/1), I'dliketheoption (12/1)

Verdict

BALLYWOOD faces no easy task for a novice off topweight, but he was considered a Cheltenham Festival sort prior to his latest defeat and he has been found a good opportunity by his in-form trainer. Poker School and Valseur Du Granval are hard to fancy on current form, but I'dliketheoption will appreciate any further drying out of the ground if fully wound up following a break. The main threat would appear to come from Yorkist who has run to a consistent standard this term and who is also at his best in small fields.
