Won back-to-back good ground chases at Market Rasen (2m5f) last summer, the latter from 3lb lower. Handles testing ground, but might find it tough to defy this mark, and looks vulnerable.
Useful as a dual winner over hurdles and bettered that form over fences when winning here (2m3f, soft) on his second such start. That was a beginners' event, but he was made favourite from this mark when falling here last time. Claims.
Goes well on soft ground. Has been consistent this season and a 1lb drop won't harm. Blinkers may also help him eek out a bit more, and he needs more to score.
Trip and ground are ideal for this seven-year-old who has improved this season. Another respectable effort behind a wide-margin winner at Newcastle last time. Unexposed and remains of interest.
Forecasts
Scorpion Sid (5/6), Whoshotwho (3/1), Cave Top (9/2), Knockrobin (7/1)
Potentially trappy, as these small field contests often are, but SCORPION SID is worth giving another chance to. He was well fancied to win from this mark before falling early last time and he can make amends. Both Knockrobin and Whoshotwho have to be respected, but the less exposed Cave Top might be the one for the forecast.
- Scorpion Sid
- Cave Top
- Knockrobin
