Winner of her last two starts including a 3m handicap hurdle at Leopardstown (soft) by a neck earlier this month. One to note dropping in trip despite having to concede weight to all of her rivals.

Fair sixth in a handicap hurdle over an extended 2m6f at Thurles (good-to-yielding) last weekend. Likely more needed if he is to register a victory on this occasion.

Returning from a break when finishing third in a 2m novice hurdle at Fairyhouse (good) last month. Bidding to complete a hat-trick that day and is of interest in this contest.

11 race maiden finished well beaten in a maiden hurdle on soft ground at Gowran Park (2m) last week. Needs to put that effort behind him to figure in this race.

Placed in a soft ground maiden hurdle at Cork (3m) in January and put a disappointing handicap debut behind him when fifth at Thurles (3m, good) last time out. Interesting dropping back in distance.

Forecast

Getaday (9/4), Halsafari (3/1), Lady Writer (3/1), The Shunter (6/1), Mandarin Monarch (8/1), Lucky Icon (10/1)

Verdict

LADY WRITER has been in good form over further in recent starts and she can complete a hat-trick dropping in trip for this rated novice hurdle. The selection has to concede weight all round but can do so to get the better of Halsafari who can take second place ahead of Mandarin Monarch who ran well last time out when returning from a break.

  2. Halsafari
  3. Mandarin Monarch
