Blinkers, soft ground and a return to 2m helped him to register a first success in an amateurs event last week. Made a few errors that day but comes here for a similar race under a capable raider.
Returns from a three month break but goes well fresh and scored in similar company for this rider at Market Rasen where conditions were slower than described. Any more rain would help his chances.
Not particularly straightforward and his sole Flat win was gained on heavy ground. Travelled well at Catterick on handicap debut before looking one paced and one of a few in this who would appreciate plenty of rain.
Sole success over hurdles came off 6lb lower and he is undoubtedly better on a sounder surface than seems likely here. Top rider booked but others preferred.
Sole success came in September 2016 and his form has deteriorated alarmingly of late. Yard 1-150 in past five seasons.
Runner-up in this two years ago under this rider off an 11lb higher mark. Might have won at Plumpton three starts ago but for errors, however his two runs since require explanation.
Pretty reliable in this grade and shaped well here after an eight month break to finish second in a race run at a strong pace. Only bad run at this track came in this 12 months ago, but has to be considered none the less.
A low-grade performer over both hurdles and fences but nevertheless backed down to favouritism last time. Would have surprised few neutrals with another laboured display and hard to fancy under an inexperienced pilot.
