Quest For Lifep19
Age: 7|  Weight: 11-8| J: Jamie Hamilton| T: M Walford| OR:  120
6/1
Running creditably over hurdles of late, albeit appearing handicapped out of contention for win purposes; interesting to see how he fares on chasing debut (dam was dual PTP winner); handles testing conditions.

Reverant Custt17
Age: 8|  Weight: 11-8| J: Craig Nichol| T: P Atkinson| OR:  120| D
8/1
Driven out to score by 3¼L on chasing debut at Catterick (2m3f, good) in November but has found life tough in reasonably competitive novice contests since; the switch back into handicap company is viewed as a positive move.

Imada63
Age: 9|  Weight: 11-6| J: Sean Quinlan| T: N G Richards| OR:  118| BF
9/4
Bumper and 2m hurdle scorer who is effective under most conditions; lightly-raced for his age (2-9) and could have more too offer over fences if brushing up his jumping technique; beaten 2½L by Fiddlers Bow on chasing debut at Ayr.

10/3
Sedgefield regular (2,1,1,5,5); his best form over hurdles has come over a slightly shorter trip (2m1f) but he should stay this longer trip over fences; can be expected to improve for the benefit of the chasing experience here in November.

10/3
Difficult but evidently capable hurdler; lost all chance of completing a hat-trick of victories when proving virtually unsteerable over hurdles here (2m1f, soft) in January; stays 2m4f; very risky proposition on rules chasing debut.

Extra Bald25
Age: 5|  Weight: 10-8| J: Paul O'Brien(3)| T: R Hobson| OR:  107
11/1
Races keenly, and that has proved to his detriment thus far; the cheekpieces which were introduced on his handicap (hurdle) debut at Sandown are now removed; his pedigree strongly implies that he could fare better now switched to fences; noteworthy.

Forecasts

Imada (9/4), Flowery (10/3), Black Art (10/3), Quest For Life (6/1), Reverant Cust (8/1), Extra Bald (11/1)

Verdict

An interesting contest which won't necessarily go the way that the market might anticipate, with the very risky Flowery overlooked on his chasing debut and the Nicky Richards-trained Imada far from flawless at Ayr. Quest For Life has a chasing background (dam was a PTP winner) so should be monitored in the betting exchanges, whilst there's surely better to come over fences from the Sedgefield specialist Black Art. However, we'll take a punt on the Richard Hobson-trained EXTRA BALD. It's perfectly feasible that this chasing newcomer (dam was an unraced sister to a couple of French chasers) will jump off in front and seek to make all.
  1. Extra Bald
  2. Imada
  3. Black Art
