Fair chaser in the past (won a Hereford novice; 3m1f) but hasn't had much racing of late; endured two long absences. Has looked rather moribund in his two starts back from his latest break (pulled-up both times); hard to have much faith.

Gets on well with Paddy Brennan (on board for last win); hasn't really fired since last victory in April 2018. Just the two runs since then one over hurdles; pulled-up last time (jumped poorly); found to have an irregular heartbeat after that run.

Rather shock winner at Towcester (March 2018) in a race that fell apart his less than fluent jumping has held him back since. Three runs since returning from a break one over C&D have been poor; needs to jump with more fluency to be considered.

Yet to win a race over obstacles having had four runs over fences (failed to complete twice) and not seen for a while now. Makes his return from a long absence today although on past form this trip looks as though it will test him.

Modest maiden over hurdles/fences (has won two point-to-points) but hasn't shown much since returning under Rules for this yard. Did look as some ability remained on his initial run back but went backwards from that outing last time.

Goring Onep21
Age: 14|  Weight: 10-8| J: Rex Dingle(5)| T: Miss A M Newton-Smith| OR:  82| D

Veteran who scored tenth chasing win at the start of the year having been given a real chance by the handicapper. Has underlined his inconsistency since though with two poor runs off slightly higher marks; not one to totally trust.

Midnight Mustangp13
Age: 12|  Weight: 10-5| J: M Hamill(3)| T: Andrew Martin| OR:  79| D

Both wins have come off a mark of 78 with the last at Southwell in December over today's trip. His two subsequent outings have had a regressive nature though running a very poor race at Leicester last time.

Leith Hill Legasib,t81
Age: 10|  Weight: 10-0| J: W T Kennedy| T: C E Longsdon| OR:  74| CD
9/2
The sole C&D winner in the field although that win came back in November 2015; yet to win since. Ran her best recent race when returning from wind surgery but was below her modest best last time; more needed to land this.

Kerry's Lordt14
Age: 10|  Weight: 10-0| J: Graham Carson(7)| T: Joanne Thomason-Murphy| OR:  69

Maiden in point-to-points he's shown little in hurdles and may well have been flattered by his fifth place here on his chasing debut over much shorter. Now goes handicapping in chases for the first time but is 5lb out of the handicap.

Forecasts

Cadeau Du Bresil (11/8), Heresmynumber (4/1), Leith Hill Legasi (9/2), For Carmel (6/1), Goring One (17/2), Belmont Park (10/1), Have A Go Hero (10/1), Dan's Wee Man (12/1), Midnight Mustang (12/1), Kerry's Lord (25/1)

Verdict

The Ali Stronge stable had a nice win with Ardmayle last Friday and her HERESMYNUMBER has a good chance of giving the stable another success. He’ll appreciate the drop to this grade having run well in more exacting company of late over hurdles, the switch back to fences should prove no problem. Plenty of the others come with risks attached and solid profiles are rather thin on the ground. Belmont Park has some good form to his name but comes back from a long absence over a trip that will test him. Goring One isn’t one to trust totally but like Leith Hill Legasi is capable of popping up in an event like this. For Carmel is another inconsistent character who can’t be written off though.
