7/2
Gelded son of Sepoy out of a dam who was third in the 1000 Guineas. Quite well backed when making a promising debut to be third over 6f at this venue, shaping as though a drop to the minimum trip would suit. Contender with improvement on the cards.

Acclamation gelding who cost €180,000 and is a half-brother to five winners, including Tobann, a Group 3 winner. Raced keenly when favourite and fair fifth over 6f on debut at this venue. Shorter distance may help and looks sure to do better.

Solid efforts on both starts over 6f at Wolverhampton. Another dropping in distance, but suspicion is that he may have a better chance once he goes handicapping.

Well down the field over longer distances at Ascot and Yarmouth in September. Gelded since those runs, qualifies for a handicap mark after this race and that route will probably be the plan.

Signs of ability, without hitting the frame, in three longer contests at this venue. First run this year and is probably best watched with the future in mind.

5/1
Competed in Group company last year, but her form tailed off. Encouraging second, though, on reappearance over 6f at this venue, with Brigadier 1½L behind in third. Form chance, but is proving hard to win with.

Daughter of Footstepsinthesand whose dam won over 5f. Never troubled the leaders when seventh of 11 over 6f on debut at this track and looks one to watch despite positive jockey booking.

Horse silk
33/1
Daughter of Showcasing who is a half-sister to 7f winner Sea Shack. Signs of ability over 6f on debut at Wolverhampton, but probably needs time to develop.

Age: 3|  Weight: 8-10| J: George Wood| T: C F Wall
20/1
Stepped up on debut run when third of eight over 6f at Chelmsford. Form lines tie her in quite closely with Orange Blossom and Brigadier, but she is another who may fare better when handicapping.

Forecasts

Brigadier (7/2), Physics (7/2), Spirited Guest (9/2), Orange Blossom (5/1), Sarsaparilla Kit (7/1), Rakastava (8/1), Te Amo Te Amo (12/1), Spiritually (20/1), Show Me The Bubbly (33/1)

Verdict

Quite a trappy contest in which Orange Blossom holds a clear form chance, but is worth opposing given her profile. Brigadier shaped well on debut, but so, too, did expensive purchase PHYSICS, who was keen over 6f and may be better suited to the minimum trip. Rakastava and Show Me The Bubbly are others to consider.
  1. Physics
  2. Brigadier
  3. Orange Blossom
