Winner at Epsom last summer, but has also proved fully effective at this track. Not seen since finishing fifth of 10 over 1m at this venue in October and drop back in trip is not an issue. May just need the outing, however.
Series of solid placed efforts since winning at Lingfield in September. His consistency means he receives little respite from the handicapper and widest draw is a negative.
Registering the fifth win of his career when scoring at Newcastle last month. At the top of his game at present and 4lb rise is not insurmountable.
Disappointing on final run of last season, but is normally a consistent sort. Good record on the AW and is capable of getting involved if sharp enough after her break.
Made it four wins from eight AW runs when scoring at Chelmsford in January. Up another 3lb and has yet to win at Kempton, but has to go on the short list.
Narrow winner over C&D last month, but was well held off 3lb higher at Lingfield last time. Down 1lb and return to this track looks sure to suit.
All three career wins have come on grass, but four AW outings have produced a couple of runner-up spots. Running well before finishing down the field on final start of last season at Newbury and this looks a warm-up for another turf campaign.
Regular visitor to this venue and won over 1m here in November. Closely matched with Fuwairt on recent C&D running and can be relied on to be thereabouts again.
Returning from a break when a close second over this distance at Wolverhampton last month. Runs off the same mark and should be sharper, so certainly one to consider.
First run for this stable since leaving Charlie Hills' yard when last of 12 at Wolverhampton last month. Needs to show much more if he is to get involved.
Forecasts
Glenn Coco (3/1), Call Me Grumpy (7/2), Mamillius (6/1), Fuwairt (8/1), Roman Spinner (8/1), Portledge (8/1), Areen Heart (10/1), Corazon Espinado (10/1), Bungee Jump (33/1), Rosarno (66/1)
Quite a strong handicap featuring several in-form contenders. Glenn Coco will be popular given his fine AW record and arguments can certainly be put forward for the likes of Bungee Jump, Fuwairt, Roman Spinner and Call Me Grumpy, but the vote goes to PORTLEDGE, who looked good when scoring at Newcastle last time and can defy a 4lb rise.
- Portledge
- Glenn Coco
- Roman Spinner
