Took advantage of mark 1lb lower than previous two wins latest when forging clear late on at Huntingdon over 2m. Upped 5lb now and struggled previously off similar but can't deny he brings some of the best form.

Bits of promise in maiden/novice hurdles but pulled up at Wincanton latest on handicap debut where he was always struggling. Needs much more here.

Scored at Wincanton over this trip (good) three starts ago, when 5lb lower. Still hadn't really been asked a question when falling three out there next but only midfield since at Huntingdon. Handicapper may have his measure.

Nibbled at at big odds when showing much improved form when second on handicap debut and again showed he should win a race of this sort when fourth since at Huntingdon. Short-listed given moderate nature of this.

Yet to win over hurdles although placed in last four of them. Had a wind-op and yard won with one first time back after such on Friday and that one had claims far less obvious than this. Leading claims now.

Well-handicapped at best now but none from nine since bought out of a seller by this yard and recent efforts suggested his decline continues.

Only win came way back in 2014 and well held latest on first run in over two years. Can't be fancied here.

Not raced over hurdles since struggling in lowly selling handicap for previous connections early last year. Been in fair form on the AW at Wolverhampton but this an altogether tougher ask.

Decent 22L third in a handicap chase over an extended 2m at Fakenham (good-to-soft) in October 2015. First race since 2015 however latest when tailed off at Exeter.

Forecasts

Bahama Moon (9/4), Star of Rory (5/2), Texan Nomad (5/1), Stonecoldsoba (5/1), Blackfyre (6/1), Collodi (8/1), Yasir (10/1), Delirious Love (12/1), Zee Man (14/1), Snowell (33/1), Oscar Vespasian (66/1)

Verdict

Jonjo O'Neill seems to be a trainer who often gets a wind operation to do trick and BAHAMA MOON therefore after such surgery is taken to win this very ordinary contest with him in truth needing little improvement to land the spoils anyway. Unexposed Blackfyre is an interesting handicap newcomer worth respect. Stonecoldsoba won last time out; a piece of form far better than anything most of these have recently mustered.
