Grand campaigner having his 130th race. Not quite the force of old and is on losing streak but wil be up with pace and young rider gets on well with him. May again find a few too good though.
First run over hurdles since October 2017 but has been doing well on Flat of late winning over 2m at Wolverhampton. Ran well twice since then off revised marks. 8lb higher now than sole hurdles success.
Landed 1m4f Flat handicap for John Ryan last summer but has been in poor form this winter for current yard and was very mulish at start last time over C&D when nearly refused to race.
Five-race maiden under Rules and steps up in trip for handicap bow having hinted at a little ability without ever threatening to get involved so far. Shrewd connections so worth a glance for any market move.
Only win came over extended 2m6f at Kelso in 2017. Unsuited by heavy ground when pulled up at Carlisle in December having run well until unseating at last at Sedgefield previous month.
15-race maiden but has run OK a couple of times this term, including when fifth of 16 at Newcastle last time wearing first time cheekpieces. Runs off same mark here.
Nothing to write home about and has yet to reach a place in six starts so far. Pulled up before 3 out over 3m at Perth last time having done little better when completing previous outings. Tough task.
Maiden after 10 starts and has run poorly last three outings, including here over 2m latest. Eased 2lb and capable conditional claims a further 7lb but is hard to get too excited about.
Won twice on the Flat in his younger days for Andrew Balding but hasn't proved of any great account over timber for current yard and has been unplaced all 11 starts so far. Hard to see him breaking that sequence this time although yard in form.
Scored at the 29th time of asking when winning easily here over 2m6f on penultimate start. 12lb higher now but will be better for recent spin on Flat and comes into the reckoning in a weak event.
Completely lost his way after finishing fair second at Perth last summer. Nearer last than first all starts since and despite 21lb tumble down weights in nine months is very hard to recommend.
Five-time winner on Flat but is just 1-21 over hurdles. Fair third over 2m at Ayr last month but step up in trip not certain to suit. Has little weight though so cannot be ruled out of the equation.
Yet to score over hurdles but has run with credit on last two outings including when fifth, beaten less than four lengths over C&D last time out. Eased 2lb so may again give supporters a run for their money.
More than four years since his last win and is very much on the down grade these days. Races from 6lb out of the handicap and looks to face a very stiff task on recent evidence.
Forecasts
Danceintothelight (4/1), Splash The Cash (9/2), Rioja Day (13/2), St George's Oval (13/2), Dance Of Fire (7/1), Betancourt (8/1), Dizoard (10/1), Avondhu Pearl (11/1), Frame Rate (18/1), Max Liebermann (20/1), Reivers Lodge (28/1), Solway Lark (40/1), Cadore (50/1), Country Delights (100/1)
In a race with little solid form to go on AVONDHU PEARL has her best chance so far of winning over hrudles. She wasn't beaten far at all here last time and is now 2lb lower. Dizoard finally came good last time over hurdles and another bold show is quite posisble, while veteran front-runner Danceintothelight is by no means out of it despite the steadier of top weight. Reivers Lodge, Betancourt, and Rioja Day are others to consider, along with the unexposed Splash The Cash who makes her handicap bow.
- Avondhu Pearl
- Reivers Lodge
- Dizoard
