Promising efforts on all three starts as a juvenile but improved again when winning a 6f novice at Chelmsford in January. Showed a nice turn of foot, shouldn't have an issue back up in trip and has more to offer off a decent opening handicap mark.

Made all over this C&D latest and over this trip at Lingfield when getting an easy lead and very good rides from this jockey. Likely to have plenty more to offer but would need to off his opening mark and unlikely to be uncontested for the lead.

Rattled up a sequence of consistent narrow defeats before a deserved win and a career-best over this trip at Kempton. Sold out of Robert Cowell's yard for 37,000 gns and no reason he can't kick on again on stable debut.

Heeraat colt who cost £100,000 as a yearling. Unbeaten in two starts and a short-price favourite both times. Showed nice improvement and a smart turn of foot and should have more to offer up in trip and off a good opening handicap mark.

Won a Hamilton maiden last June and best run since when not disgraced on final start in Redcar's Listed Two Year Old Trophy. Improvement needed on balance of form following a gelding operation and an absence.

Steady improvement in three starts last year for Sir Michael Stoute culminating in a win over this trip at Kempton. Proved well suited by the distance and showed nice acceleration. Could be competitive on seasonal and stable debut.

Made three quick starts between June and July last year, putting in a similar level (including over this C&D) the last twice and not seen since. Wouldn't need much improvement off opening handicap mark and betting should prove informative.

Forecasts

Nubough (5/4), Dahawi (10/3), Headland (4/1), Ballistic (5/1), Bay Of Naples (6/1), Howzer Black (11/1), Barasti Dancer (14/1), Gold At Midnight (25/1)

Verdict

A race full of lightly-raced and progressive types makes things tricky to see who is going to take the next biggest stride and it is wide-open. Ballistic is very likeable and consistent and is a good acquisition for his new stable but narrow preference goes to the unbeaten DAHAWI who has shaped as though he can make his mark at a much higher level. Headland won with authority on his handicap debut and a significant rise shouldn't stop him going close. Nubough is another who has shown gears while market support for Barasti Dancer would be interesting.
