Ex-Nicky Henderson inmate, he doesn't always find as much as might look likely when the pressure is applied. Maiden winner at Wincanton (2m4f, good) in January though disappointing favourite since on handicap bow at Taunton (2m2f, soft).
C&D winner in February 2018 and won again at Bangor in December over slightly further. Up 5lb for Fontwell second in January and forecast good, good to firm ground presents a concern.
Mare has taken nicely to chasing, finishing second three times over longer trips before readily opening her account at Ludlow (2m, good) last month. Gone up 9lb for her troubles, but still looks capable of better.
Gained first chase success at fourth attempt in November, scoring over 2m (good) at Hereford. Came through with a smooth challenge and respected once more. Claimer is 0-36 in previous 12 months under rules.
Fairly useful performer in his younger days for Nicky Henderson but without a win since Boxing Day 2015. This trip looks a bit on the sharp side starting out for latest handler.
Modest third of seven in a novices' handicap chase over an extended 2m on good ground at Sedgefield in September. Poor since (twice over hurdles) and has more to prove than most.
Eight-race maiden under rules with little in the formbook to merit a mention here. Pulled up at Bangor (2m4½f, good to soft) in January after more than a year off. Cheekpieces added but looks up against it again.
Forecasts
Cracking Destiny (2/1), Quantum Of Solace (2/1), Glance Back (7/2), Full Shift (12/1), Gris De Pron (12/1), Thomas Blossom (16/1), Snow Rescue (33/1)
QUANTUM OF SOLACE got off the mark nicely when dropped to this trip at Ludlow last time and should be able to go well here for the in-form Fergal O'Brien yard, in spite of her 9lb hike. Few of these have outstanding claims on paper. Thomas Blossom scored at Hereford in November, though faces a tough contest this time seemingly while Glance Back would surely like to see some raining falling to ease the ground. Cracking Destiny has a questionable attitude under pressure, but should go well for longer than most.
- Quantum Of Solace
- Thomas Blossom
