2017 Cheltenham Festival bumper runner-up who has been highly tried without success at Grade 1 level. Runner up to Emily Moon in a Naas maiden hurdle last month and can make a bold bid in this company.

Shown a lot of promise in his three starts over hurdles and likely there's more to come as proved when running well in defeat in a Punchestown maiden hurdle over 2m4f finishing third of 10 beaten 3¼L last month. Leading player.

Winner of a May point-to-point last year but has generally underperformed in three disappointing bumper efforts since returning to the track in January. Best watched on hurdling debut unless market suggests otherwise.

Six race maiden over hurdles and well down the field on handicap debut at Limerick over Christmas before being pulled up when tailed off in a Gowran Park contest when last seen in January. Likely to find it tough going.

Major purchase at the Cheltenham December sales in December, the gavel coming down at £130,000. Gelding by Black Sam Bellamy out of an Executive Park mare. Worthy of a check in the market on debut.
Carlotamix gelding out of a Jimble mare. Already in rear when making a mistake and unseating pilot at the first on debut in a Limerick maiden hurdle when last seen in December. Others make more appeal.

Gelding by Scorpion out of an Old Vic mare. Cost €15,000 as a three-year-old. Half-brother to three winners including the useful Falcarragh and bumper winner Champayne Lady. Pulled up last month in a point-to-point and others make more appeal.

Westerner gelding is a brother to two winners, including bumper winner/useful 3m hurdle winner The Westener Boy. Stayed on when it was too late on debut in a Leopardstown bumper when last seen in December. Best watched on hurdling introduction.

Forecasts

Walk Away (13/8), Final List (2/1), Debuchet (5/2), Seeyouinvinnys (8/1), Ificudiwud (10/1), Mister Fogpatches (12/1), Sullane Hill (20/1), Lord Schnitzel (25/1), The Artful Roger (50/1), Sioux Charley (100/1), Mixed Virtue (100/1)

Verdict

The Mags Mullins Smadoun gelding, DEBUCHET can take advantage of the step up in trip here and land the spoils following on from finishing second of 25 behind Emily Moon at Naas over 2m on good ground last month. Highly tried at Grade 1 level the six-year-old may have too much in the way of ability for the likes of the Gigginstown House Stud pair, Final Listt and Ificudiwud while the £130,000 purchase in December, Walk Away looks interesting on debut.
