Won a bumper at Ayr but has failed to build on that so far since hurdling. Well held on handicap debut at Newcastle in January and needs to do plenty more giving weight away all round here.
Showed steady improvement in four starts over hurdles so far and did well over 2m6½f on final start at Kelso. Makes handicap debut off what looks a fair mark but drops a long way in trip.
Has been really struggling to get home so far over hurdles and again raced keenly last time. Brian Hughes is a good booking as he may be able to settle him down in the first-time hood. Needs plenty of improvement all the same.
0-24 now and hasn't been shaping like a win is forthcoming. Again weakening late on here last time. Drop in trip may help but others have far more convincing chances.
Made it 27th time lucky when winning easily at Ayr 10 days ago. Handed a 7lb rise for that win but did it in a style that suggested a corner may have been turned.
Moderate performer on the flat and hasn't shown much more over hurdles so far. Doesn't seem to have been handed a generous mark and will need to improve to win here on handicap debut. Cheekpieces back on and tongue-tie now added.
10-race maiden over hurdles that has clearly had some issues having not raced since September 2017. Entitled to need the run but on a very fair mark if fit and ready. Market check needed.
13 race maiden and was struggling a long way out behind Christmas In Usa at Ayr last time. A lot of work on to reverse that form here.
Forecasts
Christmas In Usa (6/5), Emissaire (11/2), Captain Kurt (6/1), Pads (7/1), Rafferty (9/1), Cyrano Star (14/1), Byronegetonefree (33/1), Infiniti (50/1)
CHRISTMAS IN USA looked to have turned a corner when coming well clear at Ayr 10 days ago. He has sound claims of winning again under a penalty here. Byronegetonefree is not on a bad mark after a long layoff and a market check is needed.
