Horse A-Z
Kayf Tara mare, cost €105,000 and closely related to Don Poli. Poor form over the larger obstacles and a number of modest efforts over timber. Others preferred for win purposes.

8/1
Fair bumper performer and ran with promise on hurdles introduction at Navan over 2m4f on yielding ground in December before another promising run at Fairyhouse when fifth of 12. Should go well with a clear round.
Well held in a couple of bumper starts last summer before two inept efforts over hurdles when down the field at Thurles and Limerick last November. Easy to look elsewhere.

5/2
Slight improvement when stepped up in trip to finish fourth of 12 beaten 6½L in a Punchestown maiden hurdle over 2m6f last month. Has a bit to find once again but could hit the frame.
Daughter of Oscar out of a Bach mare. Dam unraced half-sister to Champion bumper winner Dunguib. Market likely to reveal expectations on debut.

Anabaa Blue filly. Dam, bumper/fairly useful 2m hurdle winner. Point-to-point winner and may be seen to better effect now upped in distance on hurdling introduction.
Point-to-point win in december was followed up by a couple of solid starts at Clonmel, running well in defeat on each occasion including when fourth of 18 over a similar trip last month. Worthy of serious consideration given jockey engagement.
By Schiaparelli out of a Garde Royale mare. Well beaten over 40L on each of her two career starts to date. Hasn't shown enough to be of interest here.

Solid, consistent and game sort who deserves a change of luck following a number of place finishes over hurdles since October. One of the more likely types who justifies getting her head in front.

Forecasts

Sunrise Lady (5/2), Whatucallher (11/4), Alighting (3/1), Tara Dylan (4/1), Kilbarry Lilly (5/1), Cornakill Rose (8/1), Ebaa Hana (33/1), Broomfield's Oscar (40/1), Kiltormer (100/1), Sharp As A Pin (100/1)

Verdict

The Edward Harty-trained WHATUCALLHER can get off the mark for connections at the eighth time of asking on her fifth start over hurdles. The Robin Des Champs mare can get the upper hand in the opening contest getting the better of potential improver Cornakill Rose from the Gordon Elliott yard and the Thomas Mullins-trained Tara Dylan.
  1. Whatucallher
  2. Cornakill Rose
  3. Tara Dylan
