Been a bit keen in his hurdles starts to date and jumping not always foot perfect, but gave the long odds-on Galvin a fright at Ayr latest and is improving. Saying that, has a mountain to climb at these weights and might be taking on too much.

Likeable and improving sort, not ridden to best advantage in the Betfair Hurdle last time out but still ran very well. Form of this year stacks up well however you look at it and he must be high on the shorltist here. Conditions fine.

Ran well above expectations when second to a revived We Have Dream here last lime out, front rank most of the way and found plenty for pressure. Needs another big step forward here but that's not impossible, and may outrun odds again.

Made hard work of landing the odds at Newcastle last time but previous form was very solid, and this better ground might suit him better. Likes to bowl along in front and can't be allowed too much rope or he'll be away and gone.

Looked well when winning his bumper at Cheltenham last October (decent form) but disappointing in two hurdles starts since then, too keen at Doncaster last time out. Suspicion is there's better to come once he does calm down.

Age: 7|  Weight: 11-1| J: B S Hughes| T: B Ellison| OR:  134
4/1
Progressive novice that destroyed them at Sedgefield last time, despite the odd mistake. Stays well and worry would be that, at this level, he may find speedier types but nevertheless deserves plenty of respect.

Forecasts

Getaway Trump (8/11), Rouge Vif (7/2), Windsor Avenue (4/1), Get Out The Gate (25/1), Elvis Mail (28/1), Strong Glance (33/1)

Verdict

Rouge Vif will ensure there's no hanging around here and although he looked a bit below par at Newcastle last time, the very soft ground there may not have been in his favour and hes better judged on earlier efforts. That makes him a good target for GETAWAY TRUMP to aim at, and the Betfair Hurdle fourth can take another step forward by getting on top late in the day here. Get Out The Gate ran a stormer here last time out and is not to be underestimated. Windsor Avenue has more on his plate but is going the right way.
  1. Getaway Trump
  2. Rouge Vif
  3. Get Out The Gate
