Landed a hat-trick in September (2m3f-2m4f) but only competitive in one of five starts since; comes out top on the figures and wouldn't be making the journey across the Irish Sea simply for the day out (trainer 22-101; 22% in GB).

PTP winner (3m, good) who didn't hang around for too long in bumpers; sent off a very well-backed 7/4f when taking a moderate 2m5f course maiden in January; this race rates as a suitable next opportunity.
Good ground Newton Abbot bumper winner (June 2018); ran okay up to a point on hurdles debut when finishing just over 9L third of six to the 135-rated Anemoi over an extended 2m here in December (good to firm); progress possible.

Yet to encounter a sound surface over hurdles (could assist) but has been a beaten favourite in each of his last two starts; simply done for stamina when beaten 3¼L by Debestyman at Plumpton (2m4f+, soft) in January.

Had wind surgery prior to embarking upon his racing career and that's never a positive sign; very low-key in a couple of spins in bumpers and shouldn't be winning here on hurdles debut despite the modest opposition.

Forecasts

Boomarang (2/1), Brex Drago (5/2), Manning Estate (3/1), De Forgotten One (7/2), Cotswold Prince (66/1)

Verdict

No standout contender in a race which makes precious little appeal for betting purposes. De Forgotten One beat moderate opposition when well-backed to make a winning hurdles debut over a longer trip here in January, whilst neither Boomarang nor Manning Estate (could feasibly appreciate the drier conditions) are overly enticing either. Therefore, with his trainer operating a healthy 22% strike-rate on these shores, the Irish raider BREX DRAGO gets the tentative nod.
  1. Brex Drago
  2. Manning Estate
  3. De Forgotten One
