12/1
Hardy handicap hurdler who handles most conditions; had a varied campaign, winning over fences at Kelso in October (2m1f, good) before switching back to the smaller obstacles; in contention when taking a heavy fall over C&D latest; headgear added.

6/1
Hoovered up a couple of modest summer handicap chases (Cl2 & Cl3) around Worcester (2m); has seen his sights set higher since in the Old Roan Chase and the Haldon Gold Cup (far from disgraced); conditions perfect and this is an easier option.

Cut The Corner143
Age: 11|  Weight: 11-7| J: Lee Edwards| T: A Ralph| OR:  138| D
40/1
Veteran who is a six-time winner over fences (from 25 starts); regularly seen at his most effective on good ground (2m-2m4f); off the track for a period of 143-days since competing at Ludlow (3m) in October; look elsewhere.

Age: 8|  Weight: 11-5| J: Danny Cook| T: J Parkinson & S Smith| OR:  136| CD
2/1
Hat-trick seeker; plundered the Castleford Chase (Wetherby) and followed up over C&D latest; 5lb higher in the weights so does requires a career best. However, it's impossible to fault his attitude - simply wouldn't be thwarted latest; every chance.

Copain De Classet28
Age: 7|  Weight: 11-3| J: S Bowen| T: P F Nicholls| OR:  134| D
11/4
Got his season off to the perfect start at Kempton (2m2f, good) in October when exploiting a mistake at the last from Casablanca Mix - might've won anyhow. However, it's all gone pear-shaped since; difficult to pinpoint his optimum trip.

Movie Legendp11
Age: 9|  Weight: 10-13| J: L P Aspell| T: L Wadham| OR:  130| D
3/1
The absolute model of consistency since October 2018 - 1,2,2,3,2,1 (has risen 11lb in the weights); well on top of Mixboy when scoring by 1¾L at Wetherby (2m, good) 11-days ago; guaranteed to figure prominently in the finish.

Forecasts

Cracking Find (2/1), Copain De Classe (11/4), Movie Legend (3/1), Theo (6/1), Nuts Well (12/1), Cut The Corner (40/1)

Verdict

Theo is a capable performer granted a sound surface and a 2m trip, so with a couple of additional runners in the line-up would've rated as a logical each-way option. However, tackling two in-form rivals in the shape of Cracking Find and MOVIE LEGEND that opportunity unfortunately doesn't present itself. Therefore, the selection is the 130-rated Lucy Wadham-trained runner. Her 9yo has been the model of consistency this season (1,2,2,3,2,1) and looks full value for a 5lb rise in the weights for beating Mixboy less than a fortnight ago.
  1. Movie Legend
  2. Cracking Find
  3. Theo
