In excellent form early in the season (on good ground) when winning back-to-back races at Market Rasen (2m4f+) and Newbury (3m); that said, far less proficient of late and potentially now in the grip of the handicapper.

Absent since Boxing Day when posting an eye-catching third to the subsequent winner Erick Le Rouge (2m5f Kempton, good to soft); will appreciate this sound surface and with cheekpieces applied is of considerable interest off just a 2lb higher mark.

Wemyss Pointp63
Age: 7|  Weight: 11-8| J: Thomas Dowson(3)| T: P A Kirby| OR:  136

Twice made all when winning over an extended 2m3f on quick ground (good) at Wetherby in November; 4lb higher than his last winning mark and debatable as to whether or not he truly stays this trip.

Brillare Momentop44
Age: 8|  Weight: 11-7| J: Harry Stock(5)| T: M Keighley| OR:  135
16/1
All of her best form has come between 2m4f-2m5f, although she does admittedly have the ground conditions in her favour today; difficult to enthuse about her chances based upon her lacklustre efforts in 2018; chasing career swiftly abandoned.

Age: 8|  Weight: 11-5| J: Page Fuller(3)| T: Jamie Snowden| OR:  133| CD
12/1
4lb higher than when beating the Kim Bailey-trained Abbreviate by 1¼L over C&D (good to soft) in February 2017; his form over fences tailed-off a fraction last season; market a guide on return from a 340-day absence.

Bordeaux Bill16
Age: 8|  Weight: 10-12| J: Danny Cook| T: B Ellison| OR:  126| D
9/2
Belatedly back to winning ways over the smaller obstacles at Kelso (2m6f+, good) gamely fending off Aye Right; 4lb higher in the weights and could have a big say come the finish under his optimum conditions; stays 3m.
10

Faithful Mountp14
Age: 10|  Weight: 10-0| J: Edward Austin(7)| T: Ian Williams| OR:  114
6/1
Hasn't won over hurdles since April 2015, although in all fairness has forged a decent career on the Flat (8-35); under pressure when falling at the second last in a race won by Worthy Farm at Ascot (2m7f+) last month; carries a light-weight.

Verdict

It's difficult to be confident about the chances of plenty of those in the line-up, so the probability is that this race is far less competitive than the numbers imply. Bordeaux Bill demonstrated a gritty attitude when repelling a course specialist at Kelso, and with proven stamina over 3m should go very close to following up off just a 4lb higher mark. However, despite coming with minor risks attached (broken blood vessels in the past) the preferred choice is WHO'S MY JOCKEY. He was a massive eye-catcher when finishing third to a subsequent winner at Kempton on Boxing Day, he relishes a sound surface and newly-applied cheekpieces won't hinder in any shape or form.
