1/2
Runner-up on each of his first three starts over hurdles, including behind the ill-fated Kensukes Kingdom over C&D (good) in December before making all to score by 7L at Doncaster (2m+, good) 34-days ago; penalised accordingly.

Fisher Greent15
Age: 6|  Weight: 11-8| J: Dale Irving(3)| T: M A Barnes| OR:  115| CD
8/1
Took advantage of a weak finishing effort from the free-running Saryshagann to spring a 33/1 surprise over C&D (good) just over a fortnight ago; has 7-10lbs to find with Constancio on official ratings; conditions ideal.

Horse silk
Golden Wolfh27
Age: 5|  Weight: 11-2| J: Ross Chapman| T: I Jardine
3/1
Bought for 70,000gns in October (ex-Richard Hughes) but fair to say that he has well and truly flopped on the AW so far (far too keen in his races); interesting to see how he handles the switch to hurdles.
4

Mon Ami Bobt37
Age: 6|  Weight: 11-2| J: S Mulqueen(3)| T: Miss Lucinda V Russell
25/1
Demonstrated modest form in bumpers for James Bethell; raced keenly on hurdles/stable debut at Kelso (2m, good) in January when finishing a weakening 14L fourth of eight to Erik The Red.
5

Fourth Of July68
Age: 4|  Weight: 10-7| J: Callum Bewley| T: R M Smith
200/1
€8,000 3yo; fourth foal from a predominately PTP based family; finished last of eleven in a relatively strong Newcastle bumper (1m6f+ soft) in December; unconsidered on hurdles debut.

Forecasts

Constancio (1/2), Golden Wolf (3/1), Fisher Green (8/1), Mon Ami Bob (25/1), Fourth Of July (200/1)

Verdict

The official ratings suggest that this race is a perfectly suitable opportunity for CONSTANCIO to follow up his good-ground Doncaster win in January. Like his main market rival Fisher Green, he has experience of racing at this track on a sound surface so assuming that all is well fitness-wise with the McCain horses post equine influenza he should take a deal of beating in a race which looks almost certain to be run at a helter-skelter gallop from the outset.
  1. Constancio
  2. Fisher Green
  3. Mon Ami Bob
