Really found his feet on this surface winning here three times (twice C&D) ad comes here looking to complete a hat-trick. Carries a penalty for his last win but should remain competitive off this mark despite a rather tricky stall 1 draw.
Successful nine times over the minimum trip her two starts here haven't seen her at her best though and that creates a doubt despite her proving as good as ever last time. That win came at Wolverhampton where she looks far more comfortable.
Six-time C&D winner who has ability but doesn't always deign to use it; remains 3lb above his last winning mark. Needs handling with care and tends to hang to the left when making his challenge; not out of this but comes with risks attached.
All his winning form has come on straight tracks and he's not faced that situation for a while now with the losing run starting to pile up. Slipping down the weights now (11lb below his last winning mark); placed once on Fibresand over 7f.
0-2 on Fibresand and a little below form last time when failing to back up his Newcastle 5f win over the same C&D. Looked to resent the kickback when tried here before and needs a strongly run race to be seen at her best; needs to prove herself here.
Course winner over 6f off a basement mark when having not been with this yard for very long in November. Ran a sound enough race on polytrack after that but ran poorly back here last time, again over 6f; can start slowly and has some quirks.
Makes her debut on this surface having finished a very moderate fourth on Tapeta last time out over 5f. Out of the handicap here and not hard to look elsewhere on the evidence so far.
A record of 0-20 (placed just once) hardly inspires having been lightly raced since she had some wind surgery midway through last year. 0-3 over this trip the blinkers are employed for the first time with major improvement needed to make an impact.
Ran her second race here on her last start and that was as underwhelming as the first occasion (has only beaten one horse home here). Cheekpieces go on for the first-time; runs from out of the handicap and would be a surprise winner.
Forecasts
Gorgeous General (11/8), Piazon (11/4), Astraea (8/1), Fly True (10/1), Letmestopyouthere (11/1), Toni's A Star (12/1), Kath's Boy (33/1), Bluella (33/1), Ritas Legacy (100/1)
Some of these don’t really appear to have taken to this surface in their previous visits here and there must be doubts about Toni’s A Star and Astraea especially acting on this surface. No such qualms about GORGEOUS GENERAL though who looks hard to stop here at what is fast becoming a home from home although he does have a slightly awkward draw and a penalty to overcome. Letmestopyouthere may well appreciate being back on a straight track as he bids to halt his recent slide with the rather quirky Piazon one who can’t be left out of the equation as he has won six times over C&D.
- Gorgeous General
- Letmestopyouthere
