Twice a course winner (one victory over this trip) but those wins came in selling/claiming company. Still yet to win a handicap though and underperformed in this grade last time over C&D; goes freely, bit to prove.

C&D winner in a change of headgear under a front-running ride matching some of his best efforts. The same tactics failed to work last time though; swamped by the closers late on; appears to find life tough off mark of 60 and above.

Three-time winner in 2018 and got his winning run underway this year with a C&D win at the end of January. That was a deserved win for some consistent form prior to that; shaped as if still in good form last time; fair chance off this mark.

Apprentice who rode her to her last win (C&D) returns in the saddle off a 3lb higher mark although she's rather failed to fire since that victory. Joint-favourite for a C&D selling handicap last time but failed to land a blow; others appeal more.

C&D winner when with Ed de Giles off a much higher mark but has slipped down the weights since then via just one win. Second run for this yard after disappointing over further last time; looks rather quiet at the moment, more needed.

Returned to form out of the blue to score here last October over this trip for his second win of 2018. Ran consistently after that until running poorly here last time over slightly further when forced wide and having a hopeless task; better draw now.

Twice a course winner but has a long losing run to deal with; still plummeting in the weights he looked short of pace over 6f last time. A dip into 0-55 company over 7f here saw his best run of late (finished third); stamina a major doubt here.

Tumbled down the weights and not even some trips to the Fibresand at Southwell (won three times there in 2018) could arrest the decline. Burst back to life dropped to 0-50 level over C&D in January; undone by a rise to this mark last time, wide draw.

Ran slightly better than he had of late having been given a wind op over 7f here last month. Unsurprisingly for one who has struggled with consistency he failed to back that up over C&D last time in a 0-50; makes limited appeal.

Modest handicapper who has now fallen to a basement mark (last win came off 61); only shown his form once in three runs for this yard. Raced too close to a strong pace last time (far from ideal scenario); 1lb out of the handicap.

25/1
C&D winner who is usually seen to good effect around Beverley but failed to really spark last year failing to win in 14 starts. Not seen for quite some time having run well below-par when last seen; may need this and 1lb out the handicap.

Verdict

No less than eight C&D winners go to post here so most of these know their way around here with SHARP OPERATOR taken to record another C&D after he scored her late last month, he should get the strong gallop that he needs. Adventureman is the likely pace setter but he’s found life tough off marks like this before and Final Attack may well be a bigger danger being more than capable of bouncing back from a disappointing effort last time although he failed to get the run of the race on that occasion. On his old form Our Manekineko would have a chance and he can’t be written off with the booking of David Probert taking the eye.
