Came good at the sixth attempt over fences when winning by ½L (20L back to the third) at Taunton (2m, good to soft) last month. Hard to argue with a 5lb rise for that, so will need a bit of improvement, but is unexposed and could find that.

Former Gordon Elliott inmate who is 3-9 over hurdles (OR 132). Well held in two chase starts for this trainer so far, and while he looks well handicapped, he will need to show a lot more to take advantage of that.

3-9 over hurdles, one of those being here over the equivalent trip in December (good to firm), when 4lb lower. Held from higher marks in two better races since, so now goes chasing, which looks more his forte. Interesting.

Beaten favourite in 3-5 chase starts, including at Huntingdon last time on his return from wind surgery. Can be competitive from the same mark, but needs to raise his game.

Showed glimpses of ability over hurdles, mainly over further than this. Out of a half-sister to Monkerhostin and Eric's Charm, so this should be more his forte. Mark looks stiff based on literal interpretation of hurdles form, but market can help.

Won at Towcester (2m, good to firm) last May, when 12lb lower. Has improved a little since then, but beaten over 5L over C&D last month, so from 1lb higher more is needed.

Forecasts

Master Work (13/8), Windspiel (3/1), All Is Good (7/2), Boagrius (11/2), Browndodd (12/1), Knockmaole Boy (66/1)

Verdict

Boagrius is up 5lb for his last-time win, but the front pair were well clear and he should again give a very good account. Browndodd is a very interesting newcomer to this sphere, who could leave his hurdles form some way behind. Money for him would be interesting. Windspiel is not written off, but the suggestion is chase debutant MASTER WORK, who has won around here over hurdles this season, but always looked as though this would be his game.
  1. Master Work
  2. Boagrius
  3. Browndodd
