Has failed to complete in five of his last six starts (pulled up on his last four starts over fences); now 18lb lower in the weights than when competing for Ben Pauling in 2017; can a return to the smaller obstacles spark a revival?

7/4
Front-runner who is a two-time winner for previous handler Mark Walford (versatile in terms of underfoot conditions); 4lb higher than when beaten ½L by Kalaharry at Newcastle on his penultimate start.

On a handy mark nowadays and has acquitted himself reasonably well over C&D in more recent times; not the easiest of rides (often races keenly) so should fare well for having the assistance of Brian Hughes in the saddle.

Aptly Putt56
Age: 7|  Weight: 11-8| J: Sean Quinlan| T: R Spencer| OR:  108| BF
15/8
Six-race hurdles maiden; another adept at forcing the pace and despite proving weak in the finish was still there or thereabouts (third) at Fakenham on New Years Day; has ample stamina in his family line.

Difficult to know exactly what to make of him on the balance of his overall form; 7lb higher than when winning in first-time tongue-tie at Market Rasen (2m4f+, soft) on Boxing Day; beaten since and the cheekpieces go on.

Forecasts

Loch Linnhe (7/4), Aptly Put (15/8), Let's Get At It (4/1), It's All About Me (4/1), Boruma (11/2), The Sting (10/1), Nobuttaboy (33/1)

Verdict

No strong opinion is offered in a very low-key finale, but with Micky Hammond's Middleham yard seemingly about ready to set firing on all cylinders the token advice is the lowly-weighted IT'S ALL ABOUT ME. She has taken plenty of time to find her feet over hurdles but would almost certainly have won over this C&D on New Years Day but for making a bad mistake the second last (rider lost an iron). She can make the most of the weight that she receives from the likes of Aptly Put (Richard Spencer) and Let's Get At It (Olly Murphy) who on the face of things are probably no great shakes themselves.
  1. It's All About Me
  2. Loch Linnhe
  3. Aptly Put
