Excelled himself when finishing a close-up fourth to Wot A Shot at Musselburgh (2m, good) in January, albeit was possibly flattered by that showing; that said, not too far off that bare level of form at Newcastle (2m, good to soft) since.
Raced far too keenly from the start and predictably didn't have the required stamina reserves at the business end of the race when finishing second to Fisher Green at Musselburgh (1m7½f, good); similar sharp track/sound surface in his favour.
Off the track since finishing third of four to Iolani on handicap debut at Sedgefield (2m4f, good) in October; should cope with this drop back in trip but requires further improvement in order to shed the maiden tag.
Heavy ground juvenile winner for Roger Varian in late 2017; offered something to work upon for the future when finishing a never nearer 3¾L third to Praeceps on hurdles debut at Market Rasen (2m+) three weeks ago.
Cost current connections 40,000gns in October (ex-Roger Charlton); hasn't set the world alight over hurdles thus far, and could only be described as a disappointment (lacked fluency) when a well beaten 6/4f at Musselburgh on New Years Day.
77-rated on the Flat and has made all three of his hurdles starts over this C&D; improving with racing and although blowing a winning chance latest (hung fire from the last) should be there or thereabouts today in newly-applied cheekpieces.
Finished a couple of places behind Dagian over C&D in December (fourth) and it was a similar story behind his free-running stablemate Saryshagann at Musselburgh latest; vast improvement required.
Poor on the Flat and looked ill-equipped for hurdling at Wetherby (2m, good) in October; the combination of time off since and the fitting of a hood can be viewed as positives. However, she still makes no appeal whatsoever.

A very winnable maiden in which there sadly doesn't appear to be a rock-solid option. The tearaway Saryshagann again has conditions in his favour, and assuming that his rider Wayne Hutchinson can get a grip on him early in the race, he should go close. However, there are other possibles which include Ace Ventura, Al Kherb and the selection DAGIAN. James Moffat's four-year-old blew a winning opportunity over C&D latest (hung fire from the last) but that form is fairly respectable in the context of this race and the application of first-time headgear could serve to sharpen his focus enough.
