Absolutely thriving since stepping up in trip having won four of his last six starts. UP another 7lb for his gutsy display at Fakenham last week and will be a major payer once again.
Winner over 3m here back in May last year. Also ran well here in December over fences before disappointing last time. Lower mark over hurdles and has claims on a going day with blinkers on first-time.
Sole success was in a Hereford maiden hurdle (3m1f, good) last season. Not been in the best of form over fences this winter so would need to be back to very best to take this.
Placed in three point-to-points and ran a good race when 6L second in a four runner novices' handicap chase on stable debut at Catterick (3m1f, good) last month. Reverts to hurdles off the same mark and has claims if equally as effective.
Seemed to improve for the step up in trip on second handicap start at Ludlow last time. Extra yardage here may help and is going the right way. Should be more to come.
Looked in need of the run on return to action at Ludlow last month. These conditions are a slight worry with best efforts coming with some give in the ground. Not on a bad mark all the same but may find a few too good.
Won well on soft ground at Market Rasen in December. Another good effort off today's mark when a close third at Doncaster last time. Still early days and likely there is more to come.
Has had three starts since returning from a long absence and has struggled in each. Should be fit now but hard to fancy on those efforts.
Beaten a long way in all three starts in handicaps and mark is falling rapidly as a result. tide may turn at some stage but best watched again here unless market screams her name.
Veteran who is still capable of a good performance but hasn't looked like winning this season. Mark is falling all the time so whilst he's hard to rule out, others are preferred.
Mixes running over fences and hurdles and is capable off this sort of mark. Unable to land a blow at Uttoxeter last time and rider unable to claim the 7lb here which makes life tougher.
All previous wins have come when the mare has been asked to race over a trip of beyond three miles but form since returning from wind surgery has been poor. Returns from a lengthy absence.
Beaten a long way on all three starts over hurdles. Steps up in trip and cheekpieces are added for handicap debut. Market check needed and of interest.
Yet to win in 13 starts but often runs well from this sort of mark. Cheekpieces now added to try and eek out a little improvement. Very likely to run his race.
Put a fall at Huntingdon (good-to-soft) behind him when finishing 5L second in a 2m5f handicap chase on good ground at Fakenham last month. Interesting if building on that effort despite being out the weights.
Stays this trip well but was out of form when last seen in November and may struggle from out of the weights here.
Forecasts
Uno Mas (10/3), The Manuscript (4/1), Taking A Chance (15/2), Eaton Miller (8/1), Pray For A Rainbow (8/1), Stonebrigg Legend (10/1), My Turgeon (12/1), Goodnight Charlie (14/1), Maggies Legend (16/1), Definately Vinnie (16/1), Red Admirable (25/1), Motts Cross (25/1), Holy Street (25/1), Boher Lad (33/1), The Model County (33/1), Jonjoela (66/1)
Not as competitive as the numbers may suggest and this may be another opportunity for UNO MASS to continue his excellent run of form. This extra yardage should suit and he can win again. Both Holy Street and Taking A Chance could be dangers if able to build on their recent efforts. Any market support for My Turgeon should be noted on handicap debut.
- Uno Mas
- Holy Street
