Decent on the Flat; won over 1m-1m2f, but poor showings in both previous outings over hurdles. Big improvement required.
Rated 75 at his best on the Flat but no yet really shown much over hurdles. Slight improvement last time but another step forward still required.
Won a nursery handicap on the Flat for Aidan O'Brien and not disgraced when tried in a Listed race shortly afterwards. Didn't look a natural jumper on hurdles debut at Fairyhouse though. Needs to improve his technique at his obstacles.
Modest handicapper on the Flat but did manage a win over 1m2f (firm ground). Has a lot to prove on hurdling debut.
Won a point-to-point in April 2017 but not seen a racecourse since. Cost €100,000 when he went through the sales ring and joined a high-profile yard, which is very capable of freshening one up for a race of this nature. Worth a betting check.
A maiden on the Flat during his time with Luca Cumani and really caught the imagination since switching codes. Well held latest and another that needs to up his game.
Tailed off in a Fairyhouse bumper last month and makes limited appeal on that evidence.
A cheap purchase that has been well held in every start so far. Made no impact on hurdles debut last time and gave little indication that he is one to follow just now.
Cost €80,000 as a three-year-old but went for only £7,000 at the Doncaster sales last month. Poor form posted so far and is best watched on his debut for a new yard.
A Doyen mare that is a half-sister to a 2m5f-3m winner, so the indications are that a longer trip will suit before too long. Lacks experience and is probably safe to just take notes. (Wears a tongue tie for this debut run.)
Put in a modest effort on debut at Limerick in June but been given plenty of time since then. More still required here though.
Only hinted at ability during her time in France and must be noted the mare failed to win any of her seven starts in the French provinces. Joined a top yard now and interesting she's being persevered with after a long absence. The betting can help.
Not much to take from the mare's two previous starts over hurdles and it would be a surprise if the mare was anything more than a bit part player on this occasion.
0-12 on the Flat and things basically din't work out for the daughter of Teofilo (cost €70,000) in that sphere. Plenty to prove on debut over timber and best watched.
Rated 73 at her best when with Mark Johnston on the Flat but even the Middleham maestro couldn't coax a win out of the mare in twelve attempts. Interesting enough recruit to the winter game but likely she'll need this experience.
Tailed off before he was pulled up on debut at Thurles earlier this month - was priced at odds of 100/1 and ran accordingly. Hard to recommend after that display.
Bred to be effective over jumps but shown very little in either of her previous starts over hurdles. Finished behind the likes of City Limits latest and has a lot to find here.
A Kalanisi mare that is a half-sister to useful point-to-pointer Dualla Lord and hurdles winner Do Try Dolly. Interesting enough pedigree but another who will benefit from the run all the same.
Forecasts
Allez Dance (2/1), Galilean (9/4), Timber House (4/1), Top Of The Charts (11/1), City Limits (16/1), Cray (16/1), Try Dollys Sister (25/1), Alcatraz (40/1), Elusive Star (50/1), Laureate (50/1), Short Story Long (50/1), John Honeyman (50/1), Monatierna (50/1), Pat Coyne (66/1), Dicey (66/1), Lady Magdala (100/1), Inchidaly Breeze (100/1), Master Of None (200/1)
Not much to go on from those with hurdling experience as the form in the book looks unreliable at present. Therefore, it can worth chancing a small investment in TIMBER HOUSE, who went for €100,000 after winning a point-to-point in good style when last seen. Allez Dance has plenty of experience to draw from after her spell in France and, as she represents such a high profile yard, the mare has to be respected in this modest company. Laureate and Galilien are the most interesting recruits from the Flat. The latter was seen in Listed company on the level but wasn't the most accomplished on his hurdles debut and needs to jump more fluently this time.
- Timber House
- Allez Dance
