Best effort in qualifying when fourth of 11 to Back On The Lash in a 2m novice here last time, despite being unsuited by dropping in trip. Opening mark demands more, but return to further will help.
Once a useful hurdler, but off a long time prior to returning in November, and he's made limited impact. Beginning to fall in the weights, but needs to do more.
Benefited from the drop to selling company when winning at Leicester last month, but that was a simpler task than this, and he'll need to step up markedly to follow up.
Capable performer on his day over fences and hurdles but has some temperament issues. Won twice earlier in the season, but last couple of runs have been woeful, and a leap of faith required to back him.
Won at Clonmel last season for Eoin Doyle, and probably needed the run for new yard at Huntingdon last month. Better expected, and market should reveal how much better.
Won at Tramore last season for Eoin Doyle, and back from a break when third of 17 to Daydream Aulmes at Huntingdon for new yard. That looks solid form, and he's expected to play a hand.
A regular here for this pilot, she matched the very best of her earlier efforts when third of 8 to Bonza Girl in a C&D mares handicap last time. Place claims with a repeat.
Split subsequent winners when third at Limerick in March for Sean Byrne, but below that form twice subsequently in cheekpieces. Entitled to need this run for new yard after an absence.
Improved form when second of 9 to Shanty Alley in maiden at Huntingdon in January, but was weakening when unshipping his rider on handicap bow at Sandown last time. Others more persuasive on balance.
Handicapper seems to have his measure over hurdles (1 from 17), but he won on the Flat at Doncaster in March. In frame both starts since, but making his debut for a new yard after a long break, and entitled to need it.
Now 4lb lower than when second to the useful Burst Ya Bubble at Warwick in April, but he's not fired since, and was soundly beaten here on his latest start in November.
Well held in two starts since winning over an extended 2m5f at Hereford (good) in November. Cheekpieces tried for the first time and races off a mark 4lb higher than for his latest success.
Probably flattered by his third in a novice at Uttoxeter in March, and he has been well beaten in two runs since. Still early days, and possible cheekpieces might help him refind his form.
Won at Huntingdon by 1¾L from It's O Kay in January under this rider, and ran creditably behind Daydream Aulmes there last time. Not ruled out for all he's still 5lb above that winning mark.
Ran his best race when fourth to Black Buble at Huntingdon on his latest start, but needs further improvement to make a breakthrough in handicaps.
Forecasts
Ardera Cross (11/4), Black Buble (7/2), Burn Baby Byrne (5/1), Panic And Run (10/1), Jefferson Davis (10/1), Pilansberg (12/1), Ballyellis (14/1), Special Acceptance (14/1), Samson's Reach (16/1), Cape Hideaway (22/1), Regulation (22/1), Ben Brody (25/1), Lissycasey (25/1), Iron Horse (33/1), Dreamsoftheatre (66/1)
ARDERA CROSS made a very promising start for Dan Skelton when beaten less than 1L at Huntingdon, and he holds Black Buble on that running. He can improve again, and makes easily the most appeal, although there is improvement in Ballyellis at this trip, and the topweight is not taken lightly.
- Ardera Cross
- Ballyellis
- Black Buble
