Useful performer over middle distances on the Flat (rated in the 90's at his peak) although found winning hard. Latest start over hurdles when second to useful Winston C has been franked in good fashion, and he looks one of the main players here.
Not disgraced in three starts, one bumper and two hurdles efforts, and now needs this for a handicap mark. With a top yard but on this occasion, may be best watched.
Improving with each start over hurdles and latest second to the useful Scarlet Dragon at Huntingdon looks a solid piece of form. Conditions look ideal for another big effort today and he should go close to winning.
Has travelled strongly in his last three starts but not really seen the race out as well as perhaps he should, but nevertheless more likely to run his race than a few and if settling, could have a say in the finish. Conditions ideal.
Surprise bumper winner last December (went off 33-1) but showed it to be no fluke by running to a similar figure at Chepstow latest start. Hurdles debut today and needs a bit more, so unless market says otherwise, may be best watched.
Twice a winner on the Flat over middle distances when the ground was on the fast side, but they were at a low level and he might find others a bit too quick for him on his hurdles debut today.
Regressive on the Flat last year and pulled far too hard on hurdles debut for this yard at Huntingdon last month. Hood is removed and replaced with a tongue tie but in truth he has a bit to prove now. Best watched until settling better.
Just touched off in a point-to-point last October and has shown some ability in two hurdles starts to date. Needs this for a handicap mark though, which is where she will have a better chance of success.
Hurdles debut today, makes little appeal on breeding and yard not known for first time up winners. Not hard to look elsewhere for the winner.
Beaten only three horses home in three starts to date, although wasn't totally disgraced last time at Bangor. Handicaps is where her future lies though, and has little chance of success here.
Forecasts
Kingofthecotswolds (15/8), Le Ligerien (11/4), Grand Inquisitor (7/2), Move Above (17/2), I'd Better Go Now (12/1), I'm A Believer (18/1), Mrsgrey (40/1), Careyanne (66/1), No Cruise Yet (66/1), Vereina (150/1)
This does look a lot more competitive than the first division and a few have chances. Grand Inquisitor , with the cheekpieces reapplied, makes plenty of appeal as these conditions should be ideal for him and his latest piece of form looks all the better after the winner went in again at Sandown earlier in the month. But he does find pushing his head in front hard, and on that, KINGOFTHECOTSWOLDS looks a better option. He is really getting the hang of things now and if taking another step forward on his latest Huntington effort, looks the one to beat here. Sam Twiston-Davies taking over from a claimer can only help his chance too. Le Ligirien can do better if settling.
