Bit better at Kelso last time after a run of dismal efforts but still more needed before he becomes s betting proposition.
Showed more over fences at Wetherby on latest after a wind operation. Back over hurdles now for the first time since March 2017 but others preferred.
Looked as though he might bounce back to winning form last time but seemed to find the 2m5f trip stretching him and eventually finished third. This shorter trip should prove ideal and may have more to offer.
Heavily backed when bolting up over this distance at Wetherby and not disgraced in strong contest at Ascot since. Interesting to see if the money comes for him again but this is more his grade.
Model of consistency and probably give too much to do when stepped up to 3m at Haydock. Should again run his race but others may have more scope for improvement.
Trip appears to be an absolute minimum for him and still 18lb above his Perth win in September.
Ffos Las third in November now looks very strong form and again ran well when runner up at Chepstow. Handicap debut now for a yard who won this in 2017 and more to come. Interesting runner.
Couldn't defy his penalty when runner up at Sedgefield when last seen but that was probably a career best and should have more to offer now handicapping.
In good heart when chasing last season including at this venue. Hard to know what he achieved when successfully reverting to hurdles on Boxing Day but interesting back into handicap for shrewd yard.
Sole win was at Ayr in 2017 over minimum trip. Worth a go at this longer distance and may improve for it but does need to.
Forecasts
Informateur (3/1), Teescomponents Lad (5/1), Thosedaysaregone (11/2), McGowan's Pass (7/1), Saint De Vassy (8/1), Sakhee's City (10/1), Justatenner (11/1), Taxmeifyoucan (14/1), Skipping On (16/1), Pain Au Chocolat (33/1)
A strong race for the grade and Thosedaysaregone is of obvious interest after his run in a strong contest at Ascot but SAINT DE VASSY has improved steadily with each run and can give connections their second win in this in the last 3 runnings. Skipping On is up in grade after his Sedgefield win but shouldn't be underestimated.
