85 rated 1m Flat handicapper with Charlie Hills though has been absent since April 2017 but has joined top jumps yard and drying ground in his favour.
Regressive 44 rated Flat maiden who will need to be rejuvenated by the switch to hurdles to be of interest.
Ex-Irish and has one standout effort over hurdles from December 2016. Creditable run on the Flat when last seen in September and has since been bought out of Tony Martin's yard for 30,000 gns. Market should prove a guide.
Impressive winner of an admittedly weak Point-to-point on only start in May and bought for £215,000 shortly afterwards. Has had wind surgery since. Interesting to see if any strength in betting though this could be on the sharp side.
Best effort to date over hurdles when sixth at Ludlow last time though that needs improving on and official rating of 114 seems to flatter him.
Consistent stayer on the Flat though better was expected on hurdling debut recently and although capable of improvement, will need to do better.
Point-to-point winner last year. Improved from hurdling debut when fourth in decent looking contest at Uttoxeter. Clear form chance though a suspicion that further will suit.
Similar on the Flat to his stable companion Monjeni, but needs to improve plenty on what he;s shown over hurdles so far to be a contender here.
Fetched £68,000 after winning over 1m2f on AW on only start on the Flat at Dundalk. Weak 7/1 shot on Newbury debut over hurdles and ran disappointingly.. Something to prove now.
Poor form since going hurdling and hard to see him been competitive in this company.
Won soft ground Hereford Bumper on debut but well below that form at Ascot and again disappointing on hurdling debut so has something to prove now.
Fair Flat handicapper at up to 1m6f and the best of the Ian Williams trio in that sphere. Yet to really fire on two attempts over hurdles but drier ground today could help and capable of better than shown.
Similar level of ability in four bumpers and showed aptitude for this game on Fakenham debut. Capable of improvement.
Poor form on Flat and two runs over hurdles and impossible to make a case for.
Forecasts
Heatstroke (15/8), Lock's Corner (11/4), Landsman (8/1), Perfect Myth (12/1), Point Taken (12/1), Those Tiger Feet (12/1), Monjeni (12/1), Our Bubba (14/1), Western Duke (16/1), Paddy A (20/1), Lookforarainbow (25/1), Sharp Reply (50/1), It's How We Roll (66/1), Spectaculis (100/1)
HEATSTROKE is just the type his trainer does well with and does look to have found a fairly ordinary contest on hurdling debut. Plenty of these probably have more to come and if the market speaks in his favour Western Duke could leave his previous attempts over hurdles behind. Lock's Corner cost plenty after his Point-to-point win though will likely come into his own over further.
- Heatstroke
- Western Duke
- Lock's Corner
