Won first two chase races before finishing third over C&D latest behind the useful Dolos. Upped 1lb for that but remains on a workable mark and leading contender against mostly exposed rivals.
Second on chase debut followed by a Newbury win. Second at odds-on next after quick turnaround but seven day window possible excuse. 6lb higher here but looks the sort open to plenty of improvement so highly respected.
Won twice last season although both three-runner heavy ground contests. Less impactful this term and pulled up at Newbury most recently so others make more appeal.
Seven-time winner over fences but looked exposed late last season and give his age he would have to be a highly risky proposition first time out in 10 months.
Won this race last year but tailed off when fifth of six at Lingfield on return last month. Entitled to have needed that so better expected but others nevertheless boast stronger claims.
Dual C&D winner including two starts back. Well held since behind Dolos back here but 5lb lower this time around. Behind stablemate Not Another Muddle latest and that one looks to be trainer first string.
Twice a winner over fences but not showed top form in two races this season including when pulled up over C&D latest. Had a break so hopefully do better now but not entirely confident.
Two from three record over fences so somewhat surprising he hasn't tackled them since 2017. Recent form over hurdles fair so has genuine potential if return to chasing proves a plus.
Forecasts
Not Another Muddle (15/8), Tara Bridge (9/2), Sir Egbert (11/2), Darebin (13/2), Ardmayle (8/1), Valhalla (8/1), Grey Gold (10/1), Red Devil Star (20/1)
NOT ANOTHER MUDDLE won his first two over fences and ran well here latest in a handicap. He looks Gary Moore's first string and gets the vote here. Sir Egbert is another who has taken well to chasing and he too has more to offer. Ardmayle is interesting on his first run over fences since 2017 .
