Four fine efforts since joining current stable from Richard Hannon's yard, latterly when second of five off this mark over 1m1½f at Wolverhampton. Steps back up to a trip he has not won over so has stamina to prove.

Useful hurdler who was havng his first run for this yard since leaving Dan Skelton's stable when finishing seventh of eight over an extended 2m at this track last month. Plenty to prove off 3lb lower dropped in trip.

Had Glan Y Gors just behind when fourth of seven over C&D at the start of this month. That was his first outing for 177 days and initial run for this stable since leaving Simon Dow's yard so improvement is possible.

Underlined his liking for this surface with successive C&D victories last month. Went up in the weights and was well held on latest outing, but no surprise to see him bounce back.

Musselburgh winner in October, but not to that level of form in four subsequent runs, including over C&D last month. Handicap rating on the slide, but needs to up his game.

Forecast

Royal Cosmic (6/4), Star Of Southwold (2/1), Native Fighter (5/1), Restive (10/1), Glan Y Gors (12/1), Red Tornado (16/1)

Verdict

Top-weight Star Of Southwold is respected despite having stamina to prove and Native Fighter may improve for his recent outing following a break, but this looks good for ROYAL COSMIC, who was a clear-cut winner over C&D last time, is on the ugrade and can defy a penalty. Glan Y Gors has possibilities, but Red Tornado and Restive have questions to answer.
  1. Royal Cosmic
  2. Star Of Southwold
  3. Native Fighter
