Poor hurdler has shown little in the way of encouragement in a couple of Flat starts in May and when last seen in August last year. Others preferred.
Nine race maiden on the Flat and will have disappointed a number of connections when finishing last of nine of stable debut last month. Others look more convincing at this level.
Caught the eye on debut when last seen in December finishing second of 14 beaten 2¾L by The Game Of Life who has since gone on to finish second and win in better contests. Should be among the leading players.
Gelding by Dawn Approach out of a Danehill mare. Half-brother to a number of winners, Jackhammer and Raven Banner among them. Best watched on debut.
Not seen on the Flat since finishing 10th of 15 beaten 16L in a Cork 1m4f handicap in August 2017. Well held in a number of point-to-point starts since and hard to make a case for.
Son of Lethal Force purchased for £44,000 as a yearling in August 2016. Solid starts here when in the hands of Ger Lyons last year but appeared to lose his form since. Has a bit to prove at present.
Best effort for William Haggas when second of 14 to Piece of History in a 1m novice at Chelmsford in July but caught the eye on stable debut last month running Chess Grand Master to ½L over 1m4f. One of the more likely types.
Getting closer with each start, and ran well when third of nine beaten by With A Start and Grand Chess Master last month over 1m4f. Place claims.
Filly by Society Rock out of an Ivan Denisovich mare. Possibly best watched on debut with yard without a success from 12 runners this term.
Iffraaj filly, cost 78,000 gns as a foal. Made a very pleasing start in a Listed race over 1m2f at Navan in April, which sets a fair standard.
By Dutch Art out of a Galileo mare. Well held when finishing down the field in two career starts to date and others make more appeal in this contest.
Sea The Stars filly is a half-sister to several winners. Well beaten on both starts last spring at the Curragh when in the hands of Mick Halford. Impossible to fancy against these rivals.
Forecasts
Hazel Bay (4/9), With A Start (6/1), May Peace Prevail (8/1), Treble Cone (10/1), Cj Cregg (12/1), Machiavelli (14/1), Media Deal (25/1), Crystal Pool (33/1), Elusive Exclusive (50/1), Tauriel (50/1), Ivaldi (50/1), Ringo Kid (66/1)
There is no getting away from the debut of HAZEL BAY when finishing second of 10 beaten 2½L in a Navan Listed contest in April. The filly who cost 78,000gns as a foal wouldn't have to improve much from her debut to land the spoils here. The Denis Hogan-trained With A Start and Cj Gregg, both behind a future winner here last month can battle for the minor honours, while May Peace Prevail is worthy of consideration based on his debut here in December.
- Hazel Bay
- With A Start
