Nicky Henderson once suffered a famous reverse in this race with Zaynar (2010) but with Simonsig (2012) and Top Notch (2016) he has twice saddled the winner since and his Grade 1 winning novice WE HAVE A DREAM holds rock-solid claims this time around. Although finding a few rivals stronger in his three starts this season, his bare form in the Elite, Coral and International Hurdles stacks up well in the context of this lesser contest, and he's also top-rated on official figures (by some 13lb). Cornerstone Lad could prove vulnerable on a sound surface, so the likely pace-setter Get Out The Gate could conceivably spring a surprise in finishing second best.
