Improved significantly from his debut to win a weak maiden over this distance at Kempton. Open to more progress at this trip but this is significantly tougher and forced to concede weight to all.
Shamardal gelding, cost 240,000 gns as a yearling and £10,000 as a three-year-old. Half-brother to four winners including a Listed winner over this trip and dam a Group 2 winning sprinter. Interesting pedigree and market likely to be the best guide.
Completely tailed off in a bumper at the end of last year and then refused to race on Flat debut here. Remains impossible to make a case for.
Harbour Watch colt is bred to have sprint speed so disappointing on sole start in October over this trip when always behind. Remains best watched.
Poet's Voice gelding showed some promise on first two bumper starts before being tailed off on start three. Bred to do better on the Flat but this likely a stiff ask following an absence.
Has run to a similar level in five starts for three different trainers but looked a shrewd £1,500 purchase for new connections when a close Southwell second. Surprised to see the hood removed but every chance of being involved.
Nine-race maiden under all codes and best form to date came in a lowly maiden claimer. Well beaten on both hurdle starts for new stable and hard to fancy.
Captain Gerrard mare made a much belated debut when slowly away and tailed off at long odds in December. Remains one to oppose.
Seven-race maiden has run to a consistent level on her last four starts. Did well in a Wolverhampton handicap after early trouble to be caught inside the final furlong and this drop back in trip should suit. Not progressing but sets the standard.
Forecasts
Sajanjl (10/11), Tum Tum (9/4), Merchant Of Venice (6/1), Harbour Bay (6/1), Blindingly (14/1), Scots Sonnet (40/1), Dream On Dreamer (50/1), Desai (66/1), Nicky Nook (100/1)
This distance should prove ideal for SAJANJL and while she isn't necessarily progressing, she remains consistent and it's not certain which rival has the ability to improve past her. Tum Tum settled better in the headgear, so the removal is a concern but he rates the main danger. Blindingly is of interest if there is market support.
